How I started crocheting 🌸
When I was back in Cameroon, my mom enrolled me in summer classes where we learned all sorts of crafts—baking, sewing, crochet, painting, and more. When it was time to choose between sewing and crochet, I picked sewing without hesitation because I had no idea what crochet was, and honestly, I wasn’t interested. My cousin, however, encouraged me to give it a try. I did—but it was tough, and I quickly gave up.
Fast forward to summer 2023, after moving to the U.S. in the fall of 2022, something in me said, “Try again.” So I did. And thank God I did! What once felt frustrating became something I now cherish deeply. Crochet isn’t just a craft; it’s a blessing. It challenges me, but it also calms my mind, helps me step away from my phone, and gives me a sense of accomplishment.
