Now that your wig has a beautiful, natural-looking hairline, it's time to talk styling. One of my absolute favorite looks right now, and one that just screams chic and polished, is the classic flipped ends hairstyle. It’s surprisingly simple to achieve on a well-prepped wig and instantly elevates your look. Why do I love flipped ends so much? They add a playful bounce and a touch of retro glam that works for almost any occasion. Plus, with a perfectly customized wig, the style looks incredibly natural, just like your own hair. It's all about that seamless transition from your scalp (or your wig's carefully plucked hairline!) to perfectly styled strands. So, how do you get those gorgeous flipped ends on your freshly revamped wig? First, make sure your wig is clean and detangled. If it's a human hair wig, a little leave-in conditioner can work wonders. For synthetic wigs, always double-check if it's heat-safe! Here's my go-to method for this stunning flipped ends hairstyle: Heat Protection is Key: Seriously, don't skip this, especially if you're using heat on a human hair wig or a heat-friendly synthetic one. Spray a good heat protectant evenly over small sections of your wig hair. This guards against damage and helps the style last. Section, Section, Section: Just like styling your own hair, working in small, manageable sections is crucial for precision. Use clips to separate the top layers from the bottom. The Flipper Tool: You can use a flat iron or a curling iron for this. I personally prefer a flat iron for a sleeker flip, but a large barrel curling iron can give you a softer, bouncier curl. The Technique: Take a small section of hair (about 1-2 inches wide). If using a flat iron, clamp it about an inch or two from the ends of the hair. Slowly glide the flat iron down the section. As you reach the very end, gently *flick your wrist upwards and outwards*. This creates that beautiful, soft flip. Don't hold the iron in one spot for too long; a smooth, continuous motion is best.
