Books I’ve read this month

Books I’ve finished this month!

• First Sight by Cassidy Rose

- I’m assuming this is a new release since there’s only a few reviews on GoodReads. I was a little disappointed in this one, and it made me realize I need to take a break from dark romance for a while. This book was if Den of Vipes + Haunting Adeline had a baby…a baby that wasn’t proofread or edited very well. The spelling and grammar distracted me from the story.

• The Devil I Don’t Know by L.K. Shaw

- I’m not a big mafia girl but after reading “Bride” by Ali Hazelwood, I thought I would give it a shot with the same vibes. This one was pretty good, and the angst was satisfying my craving for drama.

• The Deal by Elle Kennedy

- I needed something sweet to get away from my dark romance kick, and this was the sweet spot. It also dumped me into Elle Kennedy’s lap and now I can’t stop.

• Bonded by Thorns by Elizabeth Helen

- You wouldn’t know that the author is actually 2 women by the writing style. I finally found something to get me out of my post-ACOTAR slump for once, and this gave me the same vibes but a little darker.

• Woven in Gold by Elizabeth Helen

- I finished this one faster than I expected, but now I’m way more invested in the characters and their development. I like the fact that the romance doesn’t detract from the FMC’s character development.

• The Mistake by Elle Kennedy

- This is a series that just barely borders on being interconnected standalones. I’m not too hip on the college scene, but I do enjoy a good hockey romance.

... Read moreIn the world of book lovers, monthly reading summaries provide a great opportunity to reflect on various genres and authors. This month’s reading highlights include engaging stories that tackle themes varying from dark romance to feel-good college experiences. When delving into the reviews, consider exploring similar themes in literature, such as the allure of mafia romances, as seen in works by L.K. Shaw, or the nostalgic college romances evident in Elle Kennedy's novels like 'The Deal' and 'The Mistake'. Understanding the characters and their development is crucial; for instance, 'Woven in Gold' showcases character depth alongside romance, which is a significant trend in contemporary romances. Additionally, diversifying reading choices from dark genres to more uplifting stories can contribute to a fulfilling reading journey. It's essential to know your reading style and mood while choosing the right book, whether it's a fast-paced thriller or a heartwarming love story. Engaging with book communities on platforms like Lemon8 can further enhance your reading experience by sharing recommendations and insights. Make sure to check out trending hashtags like #books and #BookReview on social media for more engaging discussions and book discoveries.
