When you come across a question (Reading, Writing or Speaking), you don't have to use the same word repeatedly, but you can switch words / sentence structure to the same meaning so that your language is more diverse and higher-rated.

ถ้าให้สรุปแบบคนเรียน IELTS จริง ๆ “paraphrase” คือการ “พูด/เขียนใหม่ด้วยคำของเราเอง” โดยคงความหมายเดิมให้มากที่สุด ไม่ใช่การแปลแบบคำต่อคำ และไม่ใช่การเปลี่ยนคำมั่ว ๆ จนความหมายเพี้ยน หลายคนชอบค้นว่า paraphrase คือ, paraphrase แปล, paraphrasing คืออะไร เพราะเจอในข้อสอบบ่อยมาก โดยเฉพาะ IELTS Reading ที่โจทย์จะ “paraphrase” ข้อความใน passage แล้วให้เราหาคำตอบจากรูปประโยคที่เปลี่ยนไป หรือ IELTS Writing ที่เราต้อง rephrase คำถามใน introduction เพื่อไม่ให้ดูเหมือนคัดลอกโจทย์มา Paraphrase แปลว่าอะไรในบริบทภาษาอังกฤษสอบ? แปลตรงตัวได้ว่า “ถอดความ/เรียบเรียงใหม่” ซึ่งทำได้หลายวิธี (ผสมกันได้ด้วย) ที่ใช้บ่อยและปลอดภัยคือ 1) เปลี่ยนคำศัพท์ด้วยคำใกล้เคียง (Synonyms) แต่ต้องเช็ก “ระดับภาษา” และ “collocation” - increase → rise / go up (go up จะเป็นภาษาพูดกว่า) - important → crucial / significant ทริคของเราคือ ถ้าไม่ชัวร์ อย่าเปลี่ยนเป็นคำยากเกินไป เลือกคำที่มั่นใจว่าใช้ถูกจริง จะช่วยลดโอกาสพลาดใน Writing/Speaking 2) ปรับโครงสร้างประโยค (Sentence structure) - เปลี่ยน Active ↔ Passive - เปลี่ยนรูปคำ (verb → noun) ตัวอย่างแนวเดียวกับที่ใช้ในคลาส: explained the lesson clearly → provided a clear explanation of the lesson 3) เปลี่ยนลำดับข้อมูล (Re-order) โดยความหมายต้องเท่าเดิม เหมาะกับประโยคยาว ๆ ใน Writing Task 2 เช่นย้ายวลีขยายไปไว้ต้นประโยคเพื่อให้ลื่นขึ้น 4) ใช้คำอธิบายแทนคำเดี่ยว (Definition-style) เหมาะเวลาพูด Speaking แล้วนึกคำไม่ออก เช่น แทนที่จะติดคำว่า “metropolis” ก็พูดว่า “a very large city with a lot of job opportunities” ข้อควรระวังที่เจอบ่อย (กันคะแนนตก) - เปลี่ยนคำแล้วความหมายเปลี่ยน: “some” ไม่เท่ากับ “many”, “cause” ไม่เท่ากับ “relate to” - เปลี่ยนเป็นคำที่ใช้คู่กันไม่ธรรมชาติ (ผิด collocation) - Paraphrase จนห่างจากโจทย์: ใน Writing introduction ต้อง “ตรงประเด็น” ไม่ใส่ข้อมูลใหม่ วิธีฝึกเร็ว ๆ ที่เราใช้เอง - ทำลิสต์ “คำคู่ paraphrase” จาก Reading/Listening เช่น increase = rise = grow - ฝึกวันละ 5 ประโยค: เขียนประโยคเดิม 1 บรรทัด แล้วทำ paraphrase 2 แบบ (แบบเปลี่ยนคำ + แบบเปลี่ยนโครงสร้าง) - ถ้ามีตัวช่วยอย่าง Teacher Bee AI ให้ลองพิมพ์ประโยคแล้วถามว่า “ประโยคนี้ paraphrase ได้กี่แบบ และต่างกันยังไง” จะช่วยเห็นจุดต่างเรื่องโทนภาษาและแกรมมาร์เร็วมาก สรุป: paraphrasing คือทักษะ “ทำให้ภาษาเราหลากหลาย” แต่ยังชัดและตรงความหมายเดิม ถ้าคุมความหมายได้ + ใช้คำเป็นธรรมชาติ คะแนน IELTS จะไหลขึ้นชัด โดยเฉพาะ Writing กับ Speaking
