🌿🪑 WISDOM WEDNESDAY
“You Can’t Pour From an Empty Spirit”
☕🤎 Big Mama settled into that rocking chair this morning, looked out across the yard, and said:
“Baby… being spiritually exhausted doesn’t mean you’ve lost your gift. It might mean you’ve been carrying too many people and not enough of yourself.”
Let’s have an uncomfortable conversation. 💭
Some of y’all aren’t under attack.
You’re just tired.
Tired of always being the strong one.
Tired of answering everybody’s questions.
Tired of fixing everybody else’s mess while your own heart is asking for a little kindness. 🫂
Somewhere along the way, we started believing that rest meant weakness.
It doesn’t.
A candle that never gets a chance to cool will eventually burn itself out. 🕯️
Here’s the truth:
You don’t have to answer every message.
You don’t have to solve every problem.
You don’t have to prove your spirituality by sacrificing your peace.
Real healing sometimes sounds like:
🛑 “Not today.”
🤎 “I need to rest.”
🌿 “I’ll get back to you.”
✨ “I’m choosing my peace.”
Big Mama wants you to remember something…
Your worth is not measured by how much of yourself you give away.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is close the door, make a cup of tea or coffee, sit with your Ancestors, breathe, and let your own soul catch up with your body.
Healing isn’t quitting.
Healing is learning that you deserve the same compassion you’ve been giving everybody else. 🌻
🌿 Today’s Affirmation
✨ I release the pressure to carry what was never mine. My spirit is worthy of rest, renewal, and peace. I honor myself as deeply as I honor those I serve.
🙏🏾 Prayer
Ancestors, steady my mind when I feel overwhelmed. Help me recognize the difference between purpose and pressure. Give me the wisdom to rest without guilt, the courage to set healthy boundaries, and the strength to continue my journey with a peaceful heart. Let my spirit be restored so I can walk in love, clarity, and balance.
Amen.
📖 Psalm
Psalm 23:2–3
“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul…”
Sometimes restoration isn’t found in doing more.
Sometimes it’s found in finally being still. 🤎🌿
💬 Big Mama wants to know: Have you been calling it “spiritual warfare” when you’re really just spiritually worn out? Let’s have that conversation on the porch. ☕🪑🤎
