... Read moreFrom my own experiences researching ancient texts and traditional knowledge, I find the idea that AI corporations might be deliberately buying and destroying old books quite alarming. These rare books often contain valuable insights about natural medicine, holistic health practices, and longevity that mainstream science is only beginning to appreciate. The practice of acquiring and then eliminating original sources means that only altered versions of this knowledge are available to the public, curated to fit corporate agendas. I’ve noticed when tracing the provenance of certain traditional remedies, many original manuscripts have become nearly impossible to find, replaced by digitized or AI-processed versions with questionable accuracy. What’s even more concerning is how the alteration and destruction of original texts could erode cultural heritage, leaving future generations dependent on filtered knowledge rather than unmediated wisdom. There’s a distinct difference between preserving knowledge and monopolizing it through manipulation. For individuals invested in alternative health or historical research, this trend underscores the importance of supporting libraries, archivists, and preservation efforts for ancient manuscripts. Sharing personal collections, supporting open access to rare books, and calling for transparency from AI companies about their acquisitions could help mitigate the risks of losing irreplaceable knowledge. Overall, while AI offers tremendous potential, unchecked control over historical documents poses ethical and practical challenges. It’s crucial we stay informed and advocate for balanced stewardship of humanity’s shared knowledge, ensuring it benefits everyone rather than a select few.
