MY FAV HOTPOT IN CHINATOWN (accepts CDC vouchers)😍

hey zesties 🍋! wanted to share this hotpot spot that i deadass recommend, esp if you're a hotpot lover like me! and best part? you can use CDC vouchers here 😍

i’ve been to WU DA LANG OLD HOT POT (武大郎老火锅) @like 5 times now and i'm never gna stop going back LOL. the portions are huge (for me at least), food’s delicious, and everything comes out pretty fast too 👏

they’ve got 5 soup bases to choose from:

🔥 spicy – $15.80

🌶 sichuan mala – $19.80

🍲 golden chicken fish maw pumpkin soup – $12.80

🐔 pork stomach chicken soup (white pepper flavour) – $19.80

🍅 tomato – $14.80 (my personal fav)

they also have a double pot soup base option if you can’t decide 😋

meat wise, all the standard hotpot classics at pretty solid prices:

🥩 US beef – $13.80

🐖 pork belly – $8.80

🐑 sliced lamb – $15.80

🐮 snow beef – $19.80

🐟 crispy fish fillet – $8.80

and if you pay for the unlimited sauce bar ($2), it also includes unlimited DESSERT (vanilla or strawberry ice cream, YUM!)

and AND, if you leave a google review (min. 30 words), you get a free big drink thats worth ~$5!!🧋

✨ pro tip: call in to reserve a table before going. it gets pretty crowded during peak hours, but i’ve never had to wait since i always call in to reserve 😚

💸 price wise, around $90–$100 for 2 pax. which imo is pretty standard for hotpot, but worth it for the portion size + quality. for comparison (based on my own experience):

1️⃣ Haidilao: easily $110 - $150 for 2 pax, depending on soup base & meats

2️⃣ Beauty in The Pot: about $120+

3️⃣ Wu Da Lang / similar mid-tier spots: around $80–$100

4️⃣ Budget places (places with lunch promos/bugis hotpot joints): can go as low as $60 – $80

sooo $100 meal for 2 sounds about right hHAHA defo on the slightly premium end, but still worth it considering:

• big portions

• high-quality meats

• CDC vouchers usable (so net cost lower)

The vanilla and strawberry ice cream offered for unlimited dessert is a perfect sweet finish after the spicy broth! Booking a table by phone is a smart move, especially during busy hours, so you can avoid lines and enjoy your meal without waiting. I appreciate that the prices are pretty reasonable compared to other mid-tier hotpot places like Haidilao, and with CDC vouchers accepted here, it’s even easier on the wallet. For those who like variety, the double pot soup base lets you try two flavors at once – I highly recommend pairing the tomato soup with the spicy or Sichuan mala for a balanced taste. Also, don't forget that leaving a thoughtful Google review earns you a free big drink worth around $5, which is a nice bonus! Overall, if you want a satisfying hotpot dinner near Chinatown that won’t break the bank and welcomes CDC vouchers, Wu Da Lang is a spot I keep coming back to. The combination of affordable pricing, tasty soups, quality meats, and extra perks makes it a win in my book.
