Favourite hotpot (budget edition)
My go-to BITP closed at vivocity but it was replaced by Paradise Hotpot (which is under the same group), and this is now my new favourite go-to!
Why I like it ✨

- HUGEEEE variety of ingredients
There is a variety of ingredients for steamboat & even cooked food! My favourite is the fried rice and 魯肉飯 🥰
- Individual pots
Perfect for big groups or hangouts with people you don't feel comfortable to share a bowl of soup with 😂 Jokes aside, it is really more hygiene which is something my close friends and I do appreciate. I guess times have really changed since COVID!
This way u also get to select different soups from your dining partners, no more headaches over what soups to get.
- Desserts!
Did I mention the hugeeee variety they offer? Soft serve ice cream and waffles, condiments bar also comes with the typical selection of fruits!
Before you judge me for eating so much carbs during a buffet, it's only $30++ per person for weekdays dinner!
I always get the pork and chicken set because I realised I love getting the cooked food and sides too much 🥰
Why I don't love it 🤠
- The soups
For a hotpot establishment, the soups are pretty meh.
I've tried almost all of the non spicy soups (except the Satay) and all I can say is, feels acceptable for its price haha 😅
- Meats
I've tried all 3 tiers and while the wagyu beef was great, it was really nothing to rave about.

Aside from the great variety and individual pots, it's worth noting that Paradise Hotpot offers nine different soup bases, including unique options like Satay, Teochew Pork Bone with Dried Shrimp, Cordycep Flower with Mushroom (vegetarian), and Spicy Szechuan. These soup bases bring diverse flavors to suit different tastes, from mild and healthy to bold and spicy. If you’re particular about meat quality, consider their Australian or US Wagyu Beef sets, especially available during early bird lunch hours at a reasonable price. Although the meat quality is decent, the true value lies in the buffet’s extensive selection of cooked foods, seafood, and hotpot ingredients. It’s also great to know that the buffet runs various promotions, such as student and senior citizen discounts and free meals for kids under five on weekdays. For those conscious about food waste, Paradise Hotpot charges a $10 fee per 100 grams of uneaten food, encouraging smart ordering. Additionally, the dessert section offers soft-serve ice cream, waffles, and fresh fruit – a sweet way to end your steamboat meal. I found the hygiene benefit of having individual pots especially appreciated in a post-COVID world when sharing soup isn’t preferred. Plus, you can enjoy different soup broths simultaneously, satisfying everyone around the table. If you haven't tried their Satay or Tom Yum soup base yet, I highly recommend giving them a go for a more exciting hotpot experience.
