* Synopsis *
A former nurse who quit a hospital where he worked for many years, an entertainer who can not give up his dream, a motorcycle mechanic who feels lonely due to changes in family relationships, a high school girl who wishes for independence, and an accessory artist who worries about the balance between work and family. In the daily life that tends to look down, they heard the podcast "Tsukinai Hanashi." While listening to the story about the moon, their hearts also repeat the phases, spinning a new and irreplaceable day.

It was my favorite short series! It's nice to have a work with a solid foreshadowing collection!
After reading it, I thought, "Oh, this person's work was good," and it was a heartwarming work.
It is good to be nervous with a mystery, but sometimes it is also good to be relieved. It is also good that the surprising fact is hidden at the end 🙆♀️

検索で「月の立つ林で 青山美智子」「月の立つ林で 表紙」を見ている方って、作品の雰囲気が自分に合うか（重い？泣ける？ほっこり？）と、表紙デザインの意味合いを知りたいことが多い気がします。私もまさにそれで、表紙の“青”と“黒猫”に惹かれて手に取りました。 まず読後感は、じんわり温かいタイプ。大きな事件がドーン！というより、日々の疲れや迷いを抱えた登場人物たちが、同じポッドキャスト番組『ツキない話』を耳にしたことで、心の向きが少しずつ変わっていく感じです。連作短編なので「今日は1話だけ…」がしやすいのに、気づくと次も読みたくなるのが良かったところ。しかも最後に向けて「あ、あれってそういうことだったの？」という伏線回収がちゃんと待っていて、読み終えたあとに最初の章を見返したくなります。 「表紙」について。私が見た本は、青い表紙に黒猫、月、木々のデザインで、夜の静けさと少しのやさしさが同居している印象でした。派手さはないのに目に残るのは、青の深さと月の存在感のおかげかも。物語自体も“月の満ち欠け”みたいに、気持ちが揺れたり満たされたりするので、表紙のモチーフがそのまま作品の空気を表しているように感じました。写真で見て気になった人は、実物だと青のトーンがさらにきれいに見えると思います。 読む前に知っておくと安心なのは、ミステリーのような怖さやグロさはほぼなく、やさしい連作短編だということ。忙しい時期や、ちょっと気持ちが沈みがちな時に読むと、派手にテンションを上げるというより“呼吸が整う”感じでおすすめです。 もし購入を迷っているなら、表紙買いでも後悔しにくい一冊だと思いました。読み終えたあと、青い表紙の黒猫と月を見るだけで、作中の優しい空気がふっと戻ってくるのも嬉しいポイントです。
