PCOS is the worst !!!

I don’t mean for this post to sound depressing, but I’m really struggling with my PCOS. Here’s a bit about my journey: I was diagnosed in 2021 at the age of 19 after not having a period for six months. Like many, my doctor prescribed birth control pills, which I regret because my hormones have been unstable since then. I had to stop the pills after a few months because they made me so depressed. The ONLY pro of birth control is now I have 4-day periods instead of 7 😩

Fast forward to now, I’ve been having a really tough year managing my PCOS. Previously, I was doing well at keeping my symptoms in check, but as many know, it’s a condition that never goes away. There’s no break; you always have to stay on top of it. Recently, it’s just been too much. I’m constantly stressed, working out non-stop without losing any weight, and my eating habits are terrible. Despite taking vitamins, I’m not seeing any improvements and I’m always feeling sad. Then there’s the problems with trying to conceive and honestly I worry so much that it won’t happen.

I understand that stress exacerbates our symptoms, but it’s incredibly challenging not to feel stressed when I’m so unhappy with my body. This has definitely been the hardest year for my PCOS, and it’s incredibly frustrating. I’ve done a lot of research, but there’s so much conflicting information about how to handle PCOS. Doctors aren’t any clearer than the internet, so I’m really lost and just want my life and happiness back.

For those who are successfully managing their symptoms and feel good about their bodies, what are you doing? I feel like PCOS is draining the life out of me, and I could really use some advice.
