Unfiltered Travel Day Nightmare
my friend @Brittany ✈️ and i booked a cruise 6 months ago. we have been doing SO much prep and savings for it!! Saturday was finally the day and it was a real life NIGHTMARE.
we woke up at 3am and had a 1 hour drive to the airport. our flight was supposed to leave around 7:30 but kept getting delayed. finally around 9:30 they announced it was cancelled.
We booked our flights through our cruise line so the airline (jet blue) was unable to rebook a new flight because it was through a third party. we were on the phone with our cruise line (norwegian) for 3 HOURS and they kept saying the airline had to do it and they couldn’t. we finally said screw both of you and booked new flights completely out of our pockets for $1,700!!
Jetblue said we should be receiving $100 dollar vouchers each (which literally covers nothing?!!) and we are asking a refund from the cruise line although all of this is still pending.
we finally were able to get on our last flight at 8pm and it arrived at 12am, we had to wait for our luggage and go through customs THEN had an hour and a half drive to the hotel we are staying at until we get on the cruise!!
we arrived to our hotel around 2:30am and had a crap ton of paperwork to sign, we finally got to our room around 3am and attempted to use the bathroom and the door wouldn’t shut!! we opted to not complain and just go to bed. THE END
