This three-story concept store is a viral hotspot with incredible photo opportunities and unique contemporary designs that really capture Shenzhen's modern vibe. If you're into Instagrammable locations, this should be at the top of your list. Besides HAUS Nowhere, I was blown away by the local food scene. At XiHe YaYuan, I tried the best Beijing duck I've ever had — watching the chef slice it live added to the excitement! The portion sizes were generous, making it perfect for sharing a meal with friends. Just steps away, Nantou Ancient City offers charming streets filled with cute cafes and traditional snacks like the famous egg waffle and Chinese hamburger, Romómo. For a cultural twist, I explored Gankeng Hakka Town, a 350-year-old village blending rich traditional Hakka cuisine and modern art. From tea shops offering matcha to seeing prata being dramatically tossed in the air, this area is great for both foodies and culture lovers alike. I also enjoyed hopping over to CocoPark, where locals recommended signature drinks like bitter gourd tea and creative vegetable snacks — a refreshing change from typical mall fare. Where to stay? Cybo Station Hotel was a convenient and affordable choice, right across from the lively Dongmen pedestrian street. The hotel's cyber dog greeting was a fun, unexpected detail that made the stay extra memorable. Overall, Shenzhen impressed me with its vibrant mix of modern commercial spaces and deep-rooted local culture. From trending photospots like HAUS Nowhere to the bustling street markets, each corner offers a unique experience. This city is a hidden gem, perfect for a quick, immersive weekend trip from nearby Singapore or beyond.
