adding zippers is way easier than you’d expect and i 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 any type of hardware on clothes
i thrifted this top for $1.50, hand sewed the zippers, and replaced the buttons in under 2 hours
all you need is a basic sewing kit and some zippers ($1 at walmart or even cheaper online)
🖤 step 1: pin your zippers on wherever you want them, you can pin them open or closed depending on preference. i stick a whiteboard inside the shirt so i don’t stitch it closed
🖤 step 2: stitch the top, sides, and bottoms however you prefer to. it’s a good time to experiment with different stitches !! i like to use thread with a contrasting color to the fabric and i don’t mind if it looks janky cause it adds to the ✨ effect ✨
