Unlike Tekken's 3D movement, MK primarily operates on a 2D plane, focusing more on special moves, zoning, and punishing mistakes with devastating combos. The theatrics are a huge part of its appeal. Every X-Ray move and Fatality is a spectacle, a reward for winning the match. It's less about the subtle nuances of movement and more about explosive, impactful hits. The first time I pulled off Scorpion's 'Get Over Here!' and followed it with a gruesome Fatality, I was hooked.
