I asked ChatGPT to help me watch a SpaceX launch happening that day. It gave me the time, told me where to watch, and even helped me figure out which direction to look.
I was READY.
Then later, ChatGPT told me the launch had been scrubbed.
So what did I do?
I believed it and stopped looking.
Except…the rocket actually launched. 😩😂
That experience taught me something every AI beginner needs to know:
ChatGPT can sound incredibly confident and still be wrong.
That doesn’t mean AI isn’t useful—I use it all the time. But when you’re asking about something happening right now, information can change faster than AI can reliably keep up.
So now I use this simple prompt:
“Verify this using a current, reliable source. If you cannot confirm it, tell me you cannot confirm it.”
Save that prompt. 🤍
Especially before asking AI about live events, breaking news, travel information, schedules, prices, launches, weather alerts, or anything else that can change quickly.
Learning AI isn’t just about knowing what to ask.
It’s also knowing when to double-check the answer.
And apparently I had to learn that lesson while a rocket was blasting off without me. 😂🚀
