Yep - Easter Bunny crack is a thing & I am here for it 🤤
Ingredients:
- 8 x Salada Crackers
- 200g unsalted butter
- 250g brown sugar
- 200g milk chocolate melts
- Various Easter chocolates to decorate
Method:
1. Line a baking sheet with non stick baking paper.
2. Line the bottom of the tray with the Salada crackers. Breaking into smaller pieces if required.
3. In a medium sized pan, place butter & brown sugar. Place over medium high heat and stir until butter melts & the sugar dissolves.
4. Leave to bubble for 3-4 minutes. The longer it bubbles, the harder it sets.
5. Pour mixture over Salada base and transfer to a preheated oven for 5 minutes. (170 degrees)
6. While the caramel is still hot, sprinkle over your milk chocolate. Leave to sit for 3-4 minutes then spread melted chocolate with the back of a spoon.
7. Decorate with Easter eggs.
8. Leave to set in the fridge for 1-2 hours before you give it a CRACK!

I recently tried making this Easter Bunny Crack recipe using Arnott's Salada Crackers, and it was a delightful treat that’s both simple and delicious. The combination of buttery caramel bubbling just long enough to get that perfect crunch, with the smooth milk chocolate melting over the top, creates an irresistible sweet and salty snack. One tip I found helpful was to keep a close eye on the caramel stage—letting it bubble for 3-4 minutes achieves a soft crack texture, but if you prefer it harder, letting it bubble a little longer works well. I also loved using a variety of mini Easter chocolates and eggs for decoration, which added fun colors and textures, making it ideal for holiday gatherings. Using Arnott's Salada Crackers as the base was key. Their light, crispy texture contrasted perfectly with the rich caramel and chocolate layers, providing a unique cracker-toffee hybrid that everyone at my family get-together enjoyed. Plus, the recipe’s simplicity means you don’t need complex baking skills or ingredients, making it accessible for a last-minute festive treat. After assembling, chilling the crack in the fridge for 1-2 hours helps ensure it sets properly and snaps beautifully when you break it up. It also keeps the chocolate from melting too quickly if you serve it on a warm day. I highly recommend giving this bake a go for Easter or any occasion where you want a sweet, crunchy treat with a seasonal twist. It’s a fun way to share a homemade snack that’s sure to impress both kids and adults alike!
