February has been all about cozying up with a good book, and I wanted to share a deeper dive into why these particular reads were perfect for my winter lineup! For those of you searching for the best winter books for adults, I've found that this month's selection really hit the mark. First up, 'Single Black Female' by Tracy Brown. This book was an absolute page-turner! The characters were so well-developed, and the story had me completely hooked from start to finish. It’s the kind of intense read that makes you forget the cold weather outside – perfect for a long, snowy afternoon. Then there was Lisa Jewell’s 'Then She Was Gone.' If you love a psychological thriller that keeps you guessing, this one is for you. Jewell has a way of crafting suspense that’s just chilling enough for a winter evening, but not so dark that it overwhelms. I devoured it! Shifting gears, I also picked up 'Black AF History' by Michael Harriot. This was such an insightful and important read. It's a fantastic choice if you're looking to learn something new and engage your mind during the quieter winter months. Non-fiction can be incredibly rewarding, and this one certainly was. And finally, 'Black Cake' by Charmaine Wilkerson – a New York Times Bestseller for a reason! The rich storytelling and complex family dynamics made it such a compelling experience. It felt like stepping into another world, which is exactly what I crave in a winter read. Keeping track of my thoughts and feelings about these books has been so much fun, especially with my Reading Journal. It really helps me remember the stories and reflect on what I’ve learned. I highly recommend starting one if you haven't already – it adds an extra layer of enjoyment to your reading journey, especially when you're dedicating time to these longer winter reads. Now, I know some of you might also be looking for good webtoons romance to fill those chilly evenings, and while my February picks focused on physical books, I totally get the appeal! Webtoons are such a fantastic, accessible way to dive into captivating stories. They’re often quick to read, visually stunning, and offer an incredible variety of romance genres, from heartwarming slice-of-life tales to thrilling 'enemies-to-lovers' sagas. If you're new to webtoons, my advice is to start by exploring the 'trending' or 'popular' sections on platforms like Webtoon or Tapas. You can usually filter by genre, and 'romance' always has a huge selection. Look for series with high ratings and lots of episodes if you want something to really sink your teeth into. It's a different kind of reading experience, but just as cozy and engaging as curling up with a physical book, especially when you need a quick escape or a dose of feel-good storytelling during these colder months.
