Many people say the can’t forget but…
Many people say, “I can forgive, but I can’t forget.”
But the truth is, you may not forget, yet you don’t have to keep remembering it.
Whatever anyone did to hurt you, you don’t have to rehearse it anymore. If you keep talking about it continually, of course you won’t forget it. But if you stop revisiting it, you don’t have to keep remembering it.
The Bible even says, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old” (Isaiah 43:18).
If you want to be made well in 2026, you have to get up, pick up your mat, and walk (John 5:8).
You have to pick up your own slack — your own feelings, your own emotions, your own weaknesses, the things you deal with — and get up and walk so you can be made well.
And that starts with not remembering the past anymore.
The invalid man would not have been able to get well if he had stayed on the floor thinking about his situation. In the same way, if you want to pursue mental health, physical health, and emotional health, relational health, you cannot stay focused on all the negatives, all the trauma, and all the past.
You have to start looking forward and looking ahead toward what you want your life to be 🚶♀️✨
As a community here at Influence for Purpose, we are picking up our mat and going. We are taking responsibility for ourselves — for our emotions — and we are no longer making anyone else responsible for how we feel, think, or behave.
We are fully responsible for ourselves.
I don’t know about you, but I want to get well 💪🤍
We encourage you not to look back at the past, to pick up your mat, and to walk.
Be sure to like and share this, follow if you’re not already… And let God bless your health 🙏
