You keep asking God to bless you, but He’s waiting
You keep asking God to bless you, but He’s waiting on you to forgive them…
Sis, let’s be honest… forgiveness sounds holy until you actually have to do it. Especially when you’re staring at the very people who caused the pain. You pray, you cry, you say you’ve moved on, but deep down those memories still sting. That’s why today’s topic is so heavy: “Teach me, Lord, how to forgive what I can’t forget.”
I’m reminded of the movie “The Shack”. There’s a scene that broke me. A father loses his daughter in the most tragic way. The father carries bitterness, anger, and guilt until God meets him in the garden. As he cries, his tears begin to water the ground, and God tells him those tears are growing something new, it’s the release of the pain and the beginning of healing. That moment showed me that forgiveness doesn’t erase the pain, it transforms it.
Un-forgiveness is like spiritual poison. It eats at your peace, hardens your heart, and blocks your blessings. God doesn’t ask us to forgive because it’s easy; He asks us to forgive because it’s freedom. And before we can grow spiritually, we have to repent and release what’s keeping us chained.
So today, ask God to teach you how to forgive what you can’t forget. Because the truth is, forgiveness isn’t about pretending it didn’t happen, it’s about letting God heal what you can’t fix.
