It’s been a minute but over the last two
livestreams on our YouTube Channel, we’ve been going over a series talking about something many people quietly struggle with.
In Part 1: Awareness Without Shame, we talked about how many habits, addictions, and coping patterns began long before we understood what was happening. For some of us, those patterns formed in survival mode, not rebellion, not carelessness, but coping. I shared a deeply personal story of something I did that I’m not proud of and for which Jesus healed and redeemed me of.
Awareness mattered and it’s important to be aware of those things we did…
But awareness alone doesn’t heal.
Then in Part 2: From Venting to Listening, we talked about how venting can release emotion, but it doesn’t always produce direction.
Healing begins when we stop only explaining what happened and start listening for what God is asking us to do next.
When Jesus asked the man in John 5,
“Do you want to be made well?”
He wasn’t asking for an explanation. He wasn’t concerned with what or how this man got there!!!
He was inviting him to participate in his healing.
Tomorrow we continue in this series with Part 3: Pick Up Your Mat — because understanding your story is one thing… but healing begins when we start walking forward.
If you missed Parts 1 and 2, comment LIVESTREAM and we’ll send you the links.
That’s if you do want to be made well, are ready to get up, pick up your mat, walk and let God bless your day 🤍
Many people face invisible struggles that shape their lives, often rooted in early coping mechanisms developed during difficult times. From my own journey, I've learned that simply becoming aware of these patterns is not enough to heal; it requires intentional action and openness to change. In the series shared on the YouTube channel, the emphasis on moving from venting emotions to active listening for divine guidance truly resonates with my experience. Venting can provide temporary relief, but the true breakthrough happens when we pause and listen to what steps we are being called to take next. This spiritual attentiveness transforms healing from a passive state into an active process. One powerful moment in healing is the invitation to "pick up your mat and walk," symbolizing the decision to move forward despite past wounds. It’s about participating in your own recovery with faith and courage. In my healing journey, embracing this mindset allowed me to shift from feeling stuck in shame to walking into freedom and renewal. The phrase from the OCR, "IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO CHOOSE YOUR PATH FORWARD," is a compelling call to action that invites us to decide to leave survival mode behind and step into purposeful living. Healing often looks like small steps forward each day—whether through prayer, community support, or self-reflection. For anyone navigating similar struggles, know that acknowledging where you are is the start, but embracing the path forward with faith can lead to profound transformation. Sharing stories and support through platforms like this series helps remind us we are not alone, and that healing is a journey worth taking.
