Cathedral of Light - Cathedral of Light
If light is not only what makes us "see" the world in front of us, but the forces that awaken faith, memory, and the connection between man and nature, can we still see the same light?
The exhibition "Cathedral of Light - Cathedral of Light" by artist Ngamt Tunnary invites us to question the most familiar things in everyday life. The light that happens every day is almost inattentive, elevated to a sacred state, a spiritual experience, and a language of memory that cannot be explained by words.
The title of the exhibition is based on the "Cathedral of Ferns," an ancient forest area in Wollemi National Park, Australia, where vegetation grows high around natural architecture. The choice of the word "cathedral" does not mean a concrete place, but a reverence for the space that supports the value, meaning and divine power of light in a way that artists experience.
The main inspiration of the exhibition began with the experience of joining the Artists in Residence Program in New South Wales, Australia, in mid-2024. Artists spend time watching the changes in sunlight at each moment, among the great landscapes of Vollemy National Park. The light there has a unique quality, completely different from the light in other areas. It is not just visual beauty, if it is a sense of deep connection between man and nature, that light changes state from the ordinary, to the sacred in the artist's experience.
From sunlight in foreign lands, memories of the past gradually sprang up, from the candlelight and lampstand on the night of the month of Pen of the Lanna-style Yi Peng Festival, the worship of the Rutthai, the reverence for the ancestors, to the light passing through the leaves in the dim shaded areas; these memories were fused into layers of meaning that reflected the relationship between light, belief and human way of life in a variety of cultures.
Creatively, artists use landscape painting as a space to support emotions, experiences, and memories; each space's carrators of light are transmitted through different colors, weights, and atmospheres, from the ruins of Chiang Rai province, where nature gradually reclaims its own space, to the powerful terrain of Australia; the works are therefore not just recordings of landscapes, if they are recordings of relationships between humans and forces greater than ourselves.
The light in this exhibition is not fixed. If it serves as a "cathedral" that supports memory, faith and personal experience, explore and interpret the light in its own way at the "Cathedral of Light."

นิทรรศการ "Cathedral of Light - อาสนวิหารแห่งแสง" ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นการแสดงงานศิลปะทางสายตา แต่ยังเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ชมได้สัมผัสถึงพลังและความหมายลึกซึ้งของแสงในมิติใหม่ ที่ไม่ใช่แค่แหล่งกำเนิดความสว่างสำหรับการมองเห็นเท่านั้น แต่กลายเป็นภาษาของความทรงจำและศรัทธาที่ผ่านกาลเวลาของมนุษย์ แสงในนิทรรศการนี้ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจาก "Cathedral of Ferns" ในอุทยานแห่งชาติโวลเลมี ประเทศออสเตรเลีย พื้นที่ธรรมชาติที่มีสถาปัตยกรรมธรรมชาติสูงชะลูดเหมือนอาสนวิหาร ซึ่งศิลปิน นพนันท์ ทันนารี ได้ใช้ช่วงเวลาการพำนักในโครงการศิลปินในรัฐนิวเซาท์เวลส์ เฝ้าสังเกตการเปลี่ยนแปลงของแสงแดดในแต่ละช่วงเวลาเพื่อถ่ายทอดอารมณ์และประสบการณ์เหล่านั้นผ่านจิตรกรรมภูมิทัศน์ ด้วยการผสมผสานความทรงจำดั้งเดิม เช่น แสงเทียนในเทศกาลยี่เป็ง การบูชาพระรัตนตรัย ไปจนถึงแสงที่ลอดผ่านใบไม้ในพื้นที่ร่มเงา จึงเกิดเป็นชั้นความหมายใหม่ที่สะท้อนความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างแสง ความเชื่อ และวัฒนธรรมมนุษย์ได้อย่างลึกซึ้ง ผู้เข้าชมยังจะได้รับประสบการณ์ที่แตกต่างจากการมองแสงในชีวิตประจำวัน เพราะแสงในนิทรรศการนี้ไม่ใช่เพียงวัตถุ แต่คือ "อาสนวิหาร" ที่คอยรองรับความทรงจำและความศรัทธา ทำให้ผู้ชมสามารถตีความและสัมผัสแสงในมิติส่วนตัวที่แตกต่างกันออกไป นอกจากนี้ การเข้าชมที่ La Lanta Fine Art ยังสะดวกด้วยที่จอดรถ และเปิดให้ชมฟรีตั้งแต่วันอังคารถึงวันเสาร์ เวลา 10.00 - 19.00 น. ถึงวันที่ 27 ธันวาคม 2568 สำหรับผู้ที่ชื่นชอบศิลปะและต้องการค้นหาความหมายใหม่ของแสง ผ่านมุมมองศิลปิน นพนันท์ ทันนารี นี่คือโอกาสดีที่จะเปิดประสบการณ์และความคิดไปพร้อมๆ กับการชมจิตรกรรมภูมิทัศน์ที่สร้างสรรค์ด้วยความลึกซึ้งและแรงบันดาลใจจากธรรมชาติและวัฒนธรรมที่หลากหลาย "Cathedral of Light" จึงไม่ใช่แค่นิทรรศการ แต่เป็นการเดินทางทางจิตวิญญาณที่เชื่อมโยงมนุษย์กับพลังธรรมชาติและความหมายของแสงในชีวิตประจำวันอย่างแท้จริง
