The Mysterious Playground wounds from a safe space.
If a space designed to be safe is the root of the wound, we still believe in how much we are invited to play every day. "The Mysterious Playground" by Thievich Phra.
The exhibition emerged from the artist's own review, destination, dream and existence, picking up the "playground," the space with which society is often linked to safety and innocence, to symbolize the contemporary environment that seems to protect us, but in truth is full of unseen risks.
The inspiration of the work comes from life experiences in marginalized areas like Aran Pradesh, the artist's hometown, which are both geographic and marginalized borders of state structures. These personal memories are amplified into questions to the welfare system, the failure of state power, and social rules that force people to "keep playing," despite knowing well that the field is not designed fairly.
Artists convey stories of pain, both physical and metaphorical, through the integration of the human body into player structures and freshly colored synthetic materials. The body in the work is not just a model, if it is a space to record wounds from social structures, twisted little fingers, heavy travel-bearing legs, and bruised skin, all reflecting promises that have never been healed, and human struggles in fragile systems.
The playground in this exhibition is therefore not an area of childhood, if it is a representation of the world we are all living in, a world full of unclear rules, security that is just a foreground, and wounds that have been made normal.
Whether you're from a border or a big city, the feeling of "being safe but not being safe" is the common experience of this generation.

หลายครั้งที่เราเข้าใจว่าพื้นที่อย่างสนามเด็กเล่นนั้นเป็นจุดที่เต็มไปด้วยความปลอดภัยและความสนุกสนานของเด็กๆ แต่จากการเข้าชมนิทรรศการ The Mysterious Playground ที่จัดแสดงผลงานโดยธีรวิช ภูผา ได้ทำให้ผมเปลี่ยนมุมมองนี้ไปอย่างสิ้นเชิง นิทรรศการนี้นำเสนอสนามเด็กเล่นในรูปแบบที่แตกต่าง คือการใช้สัญลักษณ์สนามเด็กเล่นแทนสภาพแวดล้อมสังคมร่วมสมัย ที่ดูเหมือนปลอดภัยแต่จริง ๆ แล้วเต็มไปด้วยความเสี่ยงมากมายที่ซ่อนอยู่เบื้องหลัง เช่น ความล้มเหลวของระบบรัฐสวัสดิการและกติกาทางสังคมที่กดดันให้เราต้อง 'เล่นต่อ' อย่างไม่หยุดพัก แม้จะรู้ว่ามีบาดแผลและความไม่เป็นธรรมรออยู่ การประสานภาพกายมนุษย์กับโครงสร้างเครื่องเล่นและวัสดุสังเคราะห์สีสดในงานศิลปะทำให้ผมรู้สึกถึงความเจ็บปวดและความอึดอัดในใจของผู้คนที่ต้องเผชิญสภาพแวดล้อมที่ไม่สมบูรณ์แบบนี้ เช่น นิ้วก้อยที่บิดงอหรือขาที่แบกรับภาระหนัก ทั้งหมดสะท้อนถึงการดิ้นรนของผู้คนในระบบที่เปราะบาง สิ่งที่ชอบมากที่สุดคือการที่นิทรรศการนี้ไม่ได้จำกัดเรื่องราวแค่เพียงวัยเด็กหรือสนามเด็กเล่นจริง ๆ แต่เป็นภาพแทนของโลกที่เราทุกคนกำลังอาศัยอยู่ในปัจจุบัน โลกที่มีกติกาที่ไม่ชัดเจน ความปลอดภัยแค่ฉากหน้า และบาดแผลที่หลายคนถูกบังคับให้ยอมรับ จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว การได้ชมงานศิลปะแบบนี้ช่วยเปิดมุมมองให้ลึกซึ้งขึ้นและทำให้ผมย้อนถามตัวเองว่า เราจะเล่นต่อในสนามแห่งความไม่แน่นอนนี้อย่างไร โดยไม่สูญเสียความเป็นมนุษย์และความหวังในความยุติธรรม? นิทรรศการนี้จึงเหมาะสำหรับคนที่สนใจเรื่องสังคม ความเสมอภาคและการต่อต้านความอยุติธรรม หากใครสนใจ สามารถเดินทางไปเยี่ยมชมได้ที่ Joyman Gallery ฟรี ตั้งแต่วันนี้ถึง 15 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 ช่วงวันอังคารถึงอาทิตย์ เวลา 11 โมงเช้าถึง 6 โมงเย็น (ปิดวันจันทร์) มีที่จอดรถแนะนำบริเวณวัดเทพธิดารามและวัดราชนัดดา ซึ่งมีค่าใช้จ่ายเล็กน้อย
