🌑 Virgo Full Moon Energy + Ancestral Offerings 🌑

Harnessing Herbs, History & Spirit

This Virgo moon season isn’t only about discipline and order;it’s also about remembering how our ancestors worked with the land, herbs, and offerings as sacred tools of abundance. This rare Black Moon in Virgo on August 23rd, 2025~ will be the third new moon in a season of four. This event happens once every 33 years; where the sky becomes completely dark. The energy will pull me into the stars above and the depth within myself, and I will welcome all of that in…

🌱 How to Harness This Energy

* Walk barefoot in the grass to ground yourself.

* Let the sun detox and recharge your body.

* Sip herbal teas while meditating.

* Leave offerings at a tree in a park (ancestral practice of returning gratitude to the land).

✨ Herbal Offerings

🌾 Rice → A sacred cash crop for the Gullah people, who carried the ancestral knowledge of rice cultivation from West Africa. To honor this, rice can be sprinkled around a tree as an offering of abundance.

🌿 Cinnamon + Rice Together in a Mojo Bag as the foundation → Cinnamon adds warmth and attraction energy, pairing with rice to call prosperity.

🍬 Sugar Cane → A Caribbean cash crop, unrefined sugar is a manifestation tool to call love and sweetness into your life.

🍂Tobacco → Clears the path for abundance and is offered to spirit as a sacred welcome.

🔵 Indigo → Used for protection. Enslaved Africans and their descendants would hang blue bottles in trees to trap negative energy; an echo of indigo’s protective power.

🌸 Cotton → Sea island cotton was sacred to the Gullah people. Beyond its economic exploitation, cotton was healing; used on wounds, and even in caring for premature babies with milk-soaked cotton. Cotton carries abundance through its power to heal.

Place it all in:

✨ Mojo Bag Recipe for Harvest Season:

* Rice + cinnamon (foundation)

* Tobacco (to clear paths)

* Cotton (healing abundance)

* Sugar cane (or honey crystalized) for love + manifestation

* Seal with indigo wax (or beeswax colored with blue dye/flower)

* Add your name + tiger’s eye stone for protection

... Read moreThe VIRGO FULL MOON always feels like a cosmic invitation to get my spiritual house in order. It's not just about tidying up my physical space, but really looking at my habits, thoughts, and emotional patterns. For me, this moon energy is a powerful push towards self-improvement, but in a nurturing, grounded way. I often find myself naturally decluttering not just my home, but also my mind during this time. When the VIRGO FULL MOON arrives, I start by setting an intention to embrace its analytical and healing vibes. I love to spend some quiet time reflecting on what needs refining in my life. Am I truly serving my highest self? Am I being practical and efficient with my energy? These aren't harsh judgments, but gentle inquiries. I've found that journaling during this period, especially with the prompt 'What ancestral practices can I reclaim or reimagine to help me prepare for my harvest season?', really helps me connect deeply. It’s a space to honor the wisdom passed down through generations and see how it applies to my modern life. One ritual I often incorporate is creating a small, sacred space. It doesn't have to be elaborate; sometimes it's just a clean corner of my desk with a candle and a few chosen herbs. I might place a small bowl of rice, not just as an offering, but as a symbol of abundance and my connection to the earth. The grounding sensation of walking barefoot in the grass, as mentioned, is so simple yet profoundly effective for me. It instantly shifts my energy and brings me back to the present moment. I've also started to pay more attention to the 'Virgo moon sign traits' during this phase. Virgo is all about service, health, and meticulousness. So, I channel that by focusing on small acts of self-care and service, whether it’s preparing a nourishing meal with intention or offering help to a friend. The energy of the VIRGO FULL MOON encourages me to be discerning about what I consume – not just food, but information, emotions, and even the people I spend my time with. The idea of herbal offerings and the mojo bag really resonates with me. I think of them as tangible prayers, a way to put my intentions into physical form. For instance, when I add cinnamon to my mojo bag, I'm not just following a recipe; I'm consciously invoking warmth and attraction into my life, drawing in what I need for my 'harvest season.' And the tobacco? It's a sacred pathway clearer, a way to respectfully ask for blockages to be removed. It's about building a reciprocal relationship with the spirit world and the land, acknowledging that we are part of a larger, interconnected web. Connecting with these ancestral practices during the VIRGO FULL MOON reminds me that wisdom isn't just found in books, but in the earth, in the plants, and in the echoes of those who came before us. It’s a beautiful way to feel supported and guided. Through these small, intentional acts, I feel more balanced, protected, and ready to receive the blessings of my own personal harvest.
