Starting from the point of origin and destination, it is clear which city we leave and what city we are going to go to, to check that the flight is not on the wrong flight, and then the passenger's name must match every letter of the passport. สำหรับคนบินครั้งแรก (หรือไม่ค่อยได้บิน) “Boarding pass” หรือ “บัตรขึ้นเครื่อง” คือเอกสาร/ไฟล์ที่ยืนยันว่าเราเช็กอินแล้ว และใช้ผ่านด่านเพื่อไปขึ้นเครื่องที่ Gate ให้ถูกต้อง บางสายการบินจะเป็นกระดาษจากเคาน์เตอร์ บางสายการบินเป็น e-boarding pass ในแอปหรืออีเมล แต่ข้อมูลหลัก ๆ เหมือนกัน จุดที่เราดูบ่อยที่สุดคือ “ชื่อผู้โดยสาร” ต้องสะกดตรงกับพาสปอร์ตทุกตัวอักษร รวมถึงคำนำหน้า (MR/MS) ถ้าผิดแม้แค่อักษรเดียว แนะนำแก้ตั้งแต่ตอนเช็กอินหรือที่เคาน์เตอร์ จะได้ไม่เสียเวลาหน้า Gate ถัดมาคือ “ต้นทาง–ปลายทาง” (From/To) เอาไว้กันขึ้นผิดไฟลต์ โดยเฉพาะเวลามีต่อเครื่องหรือชื่อเมืองคล้ายกัน แล้วก็ “หมายเลขเที่ยวบิน/รหัสเที่ยวบิน (Flight No.)” อันนี้สำคัญมากเวลาเงยดูจอประกาศในสนามบิน เพราะจอมักเรียงตาม Flight No. ไม่ได้เรียงตามชื่อสายการบินอย่างเดียว หลายคนถามว่า “รหัสเที่ยวบินขาเข้าดูตรงไหน?” ปกติบน boarding pass จะมี Flight No. ของไฟลต์ที่คุณกำลังจะขึ้น (ขาออกจากสนามบินนั้น) ถ้าต้องการ “ขาเข้า” ของเครื่องที่มารับคุณ (เช่นมีคนมารับอยากเช็กไฟลต์ที่ถึง) ให้ดูในอีเมล/ตั๋วอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ (itinerary) หรือหน้าแอปสายการบิน/เว็บไซต์ติดตามเที่ยวบินด้วยเลขเที่ยวบินเดียวกัน แล้วเลือกสถานะ Arrival ของปลายทาง เรื่องเวลาให้ดู 2 ช่องหลัก: “เวลาเครื่องออก (Departure time)” กับ “เวลา Boarding” ซึ่ง Boarding คือเวลาเริ่มเรียกขึ้นเครื่อง ไม่ใช่เวลาเครื่องออกจริง ๆ ฉันชอบไปถึง Gate ก่อนเวลา Boarding อย่างน้อย 10–20 นาที เผื่อ Gate เปลี่ยนหรือมีคิวตรวจเอกสารเพิ่ม โดยเฉพาะบางไฟลต์จะมีการตรวจพาสปอร์ต/วีซ่าที่หน้า Gate ด้วย สุดท้ายคือ “Gate/Terminal” และ “Seat” Gate กับอาคารผู้โดยสารเปลี่ยนได้เสมอ ให้ยึดจอสนามบินเป็นหลัก ส่วนเลขที่นั่งช่วยให้ขึ้นเครื่องแล้วหาที่นั่งได้เร็วขึ้น ถ้าเป็นสายการบินอย่างการบินไทยหรือ Thai AirAsia บัตรขึ้นเครื่องหน้าตาจะต่างกันนิดหน่อย แต่ตำแหน่งข้อมูลสำคัญ (ชื่อ, Flight No., เวลา, Gate, ที่นั่ง) จะมีครบเหมือนกัน ทริคเล็ก ๆ ของเรา: แคปหน้าจอ e-boarding pass เก็บไว้ 1 รูป (เผื่อเน็ตล่ม), เช็ก Flight No. กับ Gate ทุกครั้งก่อนเดินไปขึ้นเครื่อง และดู Boarding time เป็นหลัก เท่านี้บินครั้งแรกก็มั่นใจขึ้นเยอะค่ะ
