As a grad student you need to read this!!
Grad school is a big adjustment and comes with a lot of challenges. I find most for me are due to the tendency I have to compare myself to others. The biggest in that is I feel like everyone around me is always working, so I can’t take a break. Yet, recently I started taking breaks and doing what is best for me and it has truly been so amazing for my work and my mental health.
I also started grad school by trying to do whatever one around me was doing. In reality, someone else’s study pattern will never work for you. The best thing you can do is put your head down and focus on what works to teach you the material.
Grad school is more than just taking classes!! Study topics on your own, go to networking events, anything you can do to best prepare yourself!
