Is it wrong to use AI to do art?
In recent years, AI has obviously played a role in art and design, from visualization, video, music, to graphics and fashion. The question that has been discussed and debated is, "Is it wrong to use AI to do art?" Before judging this question, perhaps we can take a broader step back and understand the context, intention, and value of art in a deeper way.
AI is a tool, not an artist.
AI does not have a sense of memory or a human experience. What AI can do is process a lot of data and create results according to the order we give it. In many cases, AI is seen as a new type of "tool," similar to a camera, graphic program, or editing software, that people choose to help expand their ideas and creativity. In the end, what really matters is not whether AI is used or not, but who thinks, who decides, and who is more responsible for that work.
Artwork stems from creativity and intent.
The heart of an art is not just the image or the last work we see, but the process, the intention and the perspective of the person who creates it. Each artist has his or her own source, inspiration and storytelling, and the design is not just a beautiful picture, but a communication through it.
In an age when technology is very accessible, credit, copyright respect, and not overlooking the value of ideas are all the more important. Supporting an artist, designer, or creator, whether it's hiring, buying works, or simply accepting their talents, helps the industry continue to grow in a sustainable way.
