iOS 18.2 | How to create Genmoji✨

Now with iOS 18.2 you can create custom emoji (called Genmoji). You just have to describe what you want the Genmoji to look like. Be aware: time flies when you’re creating genmoji! I couldn’t stop🤭😂

You can add Genmoji to your messages or use them as a reaction.

Genmoji is available on all iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

... Read moreOkay, so you've seen the buzz about Genmoji in iOS 18.2, and you're probably wondering how to get started creating those adorable, custom emojis on your iPhone, right? Well, let me tell you, it's even more fun and addictive than I expected! When I first saw the 'Welcome to iPhone Genmoji tutorial,' I knew I had to try it, and I couldn't stop. It's truly one of the coolest new features if you love personalizing your digital life. How to Unleash Your Inner Genmoji Creator: A Step-by-Step Guide Creating your personal Genmoji is super straightforward, and I'll walk you through exactly how I do it. First, make sure your iPhone is updated to iOS 18.2 (you'll see an 'iPhone updating' screen if it's not already). Once updated, you might get a prompt to 'Set Up' new 'Image Creation' features like 'Image Playground' and 'Genmoji' – just follow those easy steps. Then, head over to your Messages app, as that's where the magic really happens. When you're in a conversation, tap on the emoji icon on your keyboard, just like you would to access regular emojis or stickers. This is your 'genmoji creation screen'! Instead of picking an existing emoji, you'll see an option to 'Describe an emoji' or something similar. This is your cue to get creative! Start typing out whatever you can imagine. For example, I tried 'cats hugging each other' (just like in the tutorial image!), and within seconds, a few adorable variations appeared. You can describe pretty much anything – a 'smiling coffee cup,' a 'party hat snowflake,' or even 'dancing Christmas trees.' The AI behind it is truly impressive. Once you see a Genmoji you love, you can tap to select it, and it'll appear right in your message field, ready to send. You can also save your favorites to your Genmoji keyboard for quick access later. I've found this makes my conversations so much more expressive and unique. Plus, they're not just for sending! You can use these custom creations as reactions to messages, adding an extra layer of fun to your chats. Tips for Crafting the Best & Funniest Genmoji Prompts Want to make some truly 'best genmojis' or get some 'funny genmoji prompts'? Here are a few things I've learned that really help: Be Specific: Instead of just 'dog,' try 'fluffy golden retriever wearing sunglasses.' The more detail you give, the better the results. Add Adjectives: Words like 'sparkling,' 'grumpy,' 'joyful,' 'sleepy,' or 'epic' can dramatically change the mood and style of your Genmoji. Combine Concepts: Think outside the box! How about a 'pizza slice doing yoga' or a 'robot knitting a scarf'? The sillier, the better for 'funny genmoji' ideas! Consider Styles: While not explicitly prompted, sometimes adding a style like 'cartoon,' 'pixel art,' or '3D rendered' (if supported in future updates) might influence the output. Experiment! Focus on Emotions: If you want an emoji to convey a feeling, describe the action or expression clearly, like 'a happy cloud jumping' or 'a confused squirrel thinking.' Remember Context: Think about what you're trying to communicate. If you want a 'john deere emoji,' you could try 'green tractor smiling' or 'farm equipment thumbs up.' Just make sure to keep it light and fun! It's incredible how these 'iOS 18 AI emojis' empower us to create something truly personal. The limitations mentioned in the original article about compatible devices (iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max) are important to remember, but if you have one, you're in for a treat. So go ahead, experiment with those 'genmoji examples,' and make your messages uniquely *you*. I promise, time will fly, but you'll have a blast!
