Unposted wips

Hey everyone! You might have seen some of my art floating around under the tag itadoritos_, but today I wanted to pull back the curtain a little and talk about something every artist knows well: WIPs! These are the unfinished pieces, the half-baked ideas, the sketches that might never see the light of day... until now! For me, my 'unposted creatives' are a treasure trove. Sometimes, as a digital artist, you start a new piece – maybe a vibrant digital sketch of a pink-haired anime girl with striking red eyes, or a quick chibi head sketch like some of the ones I've done – and you get halfway through, and it just doesn't feel right. Or, life gets in the way, and you move on to another idea. These aren't failures; they're stepping stones, experiments, and proof of countless hours of practice. You might ask, 'why do digital artists post multiple variations or wips of artwork online?' Well, there are so many reasons! For starters, it's a fantastic way to track your own growth. Looking back at old WIPs can show you how far your skills have come. It also allows for valuable feedback from your community. Sometimes, a fresh pair of eyes can spot something you missed or inspire you to take the piece in a new direction. Think of the black and white sketch of the smiling woman and man at the table – seeing that evolve could be fascinating! Sharing WIPs, even just for yourself, is a reminder that art isn't always about perfection. It's about the process, the learning, and the joy of creation. It’s okay to have pieces that are 'good enough' to share as a glimpse into your journey, even if they're not polished masterpieces. My feed often has a mix, and I love seeing other artists embrace their own process.
