... Read moreHey Lemon8 fam! So glad you're checking out Part 1 of my DR (Desired Reality) characters as tweets! If you're into shifting, you know how crucial it is to truly feel and understand the world you're creating. For me, imagining my DR characters' inner monologues, especially their tweets, has been a game-changer. It helps me dive deep into their personalities, making my reality feel so much more vivid and real.
Let's talk about some of these "tweets" and how they reflect common experiences, even in our desired realities. Take the 'overthinker' tweet from @livewithnoregrt for instance: 'I'm an overthinker so if you don't give me an answer, I'll come up with one.' Doesn't that perfectly capture the 'struggle to express feelings' sometimes? In our DRs, not everyone is a straightforward communicator. Imagining characters with these nuances, who might hold back or overanalyze, adds incredible depth. It makes them feel like real people you'd encounter, not just archetypes. I've found that giving my DR characters these little quirks, these internal battles, makes my shifting experience so much richer. It's like, even in a perfect reality, there's still that human element of trying to figure things out.
Then there's the 'observant' one from @Realbrianaroy – 'i dont think people understand how observantiam, likeimreallynotafool.' This really speaks to the hidden strengths or unacknowledged traits our DR characters might possess. It’s a subtle nod to the fact that even in a world you design, there can be underlying dynamics, perhaps even a sense of 'intense competition' or unspoken rivalries that make things interesting. Maybe some characters are quietly observing, strategizing, or simply understanding things on a deeper level than others realize. It’s not always about overt conflict, but the subtle power plays and individual journeys that unfold.
Even the lighter tweets, like 'warm water tastes round and cold water tastes pointy' from @madbhabie, help build out the unique sensory details of a DR. And the frustration of @antsfuneral, 'bruh yall everlook good as hell and cant take a picture for shit ????', reminds us that even in our ideal realities, relatable, funny challenges still exist, making it feel less like a perfect, sterile world and more like a vibrant, living one.
Thinking about these characters through tweets also helps me understand potential relationship dynamics. The 'shoot your shot' tweet from @yasmeenayrn, 'bro if u have a crush on me pls shoot your shot, u literally have no competition I'm rooting for u even', directly addresses the 'struggle to express feelings' in a romantic context. It highlights how some characters might be waiting for someone else to make a move, or how easy it could be for someone to step forward if they just overcame that emotional hurdle. It's a great prompt for exploring love and connection in my DR without making it too easy or too dramatic.
This 'PEOPLE IN MY DR AS TWEETS!!' series (and yes, this is part one!) is my way of making my DR more tangible and engaging. By giving voice to these internal thoughts and feelings, I get a clearer picture of their motivations and how they navigate their world, whether it's dealing with internal struggles or navigating what could feel like intense competition for certain goals or positions. I hope it inspires you to think about your DR characters in new ways too! Stay tuned for more parts where I'll dive into even more fascinating DR character insights!
