🖤❤️ Walk Down Memory Lane ❤️🖤 (part 1)

In 2010, shortly after Mockingjay was published, I walked down the book section of the store. I saw The Hunger Game books and picked the first one up. Sounded interesting so I bought it. I didn't buy the other two though, just in case it wasn't good. Two days later, I was back buying the whole set. This is why my entire set doesn't match. I didn't want to put the money into a hardback book unless it was great. But I would not change out book one for a hardback for anything. Thus set means the world to me...and here's why.

I read the original trilogy very fast. I'm so thankful I didn't hear about it until they were all published. I can't imagine waiting to find out things. After I read them all, I told my dad about them and convinced him to listen to the audiobooks. He's not a reader. He LOVED them too!

Fast forward to 2012. I find out the premier date for the movie. I tell my parents that I am going to the midnight showing no matter what! Well, with my dad's job at the time, which involved travel, I helped him with things. His departure date was the morning of the premier date. I was devastated...

We travel all day and get things done with his job. At our hotel that evening and he sneakily says, "Is there a movie theater around here?" I hadn't thought of that... Googled and guess what, there's one right to the street!

My dad and I get tickets for the midnight showing in this very small town and we are the ONLY ONES IN THE THEATER! It was awesome! We could sit anywhere and talk about how amazing the scene was or whatever we wanted. We both absolutely loved the movie and was super excited for the next one. With dad surprising me with the midnight showing after I was so devastated was one of the best nights ever. Truly rememberable and forever will be one of the best times with my Dad. We have watched all the movies together, all the while sneaking huge bags of chips in to snack on. (TO BE CONTINUED IN NEXT POST)
