What I only train in flat/barefoot shoes!

training in flat shoes is GAME CHANGER.. first off, your feet move while working out so your shoes should allow for that as well!

I don't personally like training barefoot (sometimes I will just lift in my socks) but I usually turn to a flat and wide shoe for my workouts for a few different reasons..

1) Barefoot training enhances your body's awareness of its position and movement in space, leading to better balance and coordination.

2) Barefoot training can improve posture and reduce strain on joints and muscles.

3) Working out barefoot strengthens the small muscles in the feet and ankles, leading to increased stability and reduced risk of injuries

4) Improved your body mechanics, making it easier to move naturally and efficiently.

If you've never tried workout out barefoot, I definitely encourage you to! Or try some flat shoes such as converse, vans, or my favorite- flux!

... Read moreTraining in flat shoes or barefoot can significantly improve your overall workout performance. When you wear shoes that allow your feet to move freely, you engage more of the small muscles in your feet and ankles. This not only strengthens these muscles but also reduces your risk of common injuries, as a stable base is crucial for efficient movement. Additionally, staying aware of your body's position enhances your balance and coordination, leading to better posture and less strain on joints and muscles. If you're hesitant about barefoot training, consider beginning with flat shoes like Converse or Vans, which provide the necessary support while enabling natural foot movement. Many athletes swear by this style of training to achieve optimal body mechanics, making their movements more natural and efficient. Moreover, individuals new to this method often notice improved grip and stability, which can enhance performance in various workouts, from lifting weights to cardio exercises. Experimenting with different types of flat footwear may pave the way to a more enjoyable and effective fitness journey!

Finally tried Temu’s $10-ish flat shoes
I bought 3 styles, ballet flats, loafers, and strappy sandals. Pros: Shockingly comfy for the price! The ballet flats have memory foam insoles, zero blisters even after 8-hour shifts. Loafers look cute with jeans or dresses, and the sandals are perfect for errands with no rubbing between toes.

Choosing the right shoes for your workout is key to getting in a good run or a good lift. During different workouts you want to wear different pairs of shoes. For example, on days you go for a run you will want a much different shoe than on a day you train legs. Here are some tips to picking the ri

Why I Train Without Shoes
I prefer to train without shoes for reduced or lessened knee and lower back pain. With no shoes, this allows for the foot muscles to be more engaged which strengthens your natural arch support and how well your toes are able to stay stable. Having stronger foot muscles allows your body to recruit o

why I train barefoot on leg days
I used to train in running shoes because that’s just what I thought you were supposed to wear. But I kept noticing my knees felt off, my hips felt wobbly, and I wasn’t feeling my glutes the way I wanted to. Once I switched to barefoot training (just socks or converse/vans), everything changed.
