Easy Garden Repotting Hack 🪴

I’ve been doing this repotting hack for awhile, and thought I’d share! I always had trouble figuring out how much soil to add, and worried about damaging plants while repotting. This is a super easy trick anyone can do which has cut down a lot of time during my gardening. Here’s how to do it:

- In the pot you plan on repotting in, fill about half way with soil.

- Dig out a hole in the middle, and place the plants old pot there. Pack the soil around the plant.

- Grab a garden hose and wet the soil (with the plant still in the middle), then remove the plant

- This creates a perfect size hole in the middle of the pot for the plant!

- Remove the plant from its old pot, and place in the center. Top off the pot with some more soil

That’s it! It really takes the guesswork out of repotting. Give it a try the next time you garden 💚

... Read moreRepotting can be a daunting task for many plant enthusiasts; however, knowing a few essential techniques can make this process significantly easier. This innovative repotting method not only eliminates the stress of measuring soil but also protects your plants during the transition. First, prepare your new pot by filling it about halfway with fresh potting soil. Ensure that you're using a quality potting mix suited for your specific plant types. Next, create a small hole in the center of the new pot where your plant will be placed. You can simply use the old pot as a mold by packing soil around it to form the ideal shape. Wetting the soil with a garden hose not only settles it but also allows for better plant rooting once the repotting is completed. After carefully removing your plant from its old pot, gently place it into the hole you've created. Fill in any gaps with additional soil, making sure the plant is secure. This method takes the guesswork out of repotting and can greatly reduce the chances of root shock for your plants. Regular repotting is crucial for maintaining healthy plants, as it gives them room to grow and access to fresh nutrients. Don't forget to monitor your plants for any signs of distress after repotting, and consider adjusting your watering schedule to match the changes in their environment. Happy gardening!
