december running recap
December wasn’t about speed, it was about distance in every sense of the word. 🏃♀️✨ I upped my mileage by nearly 35 miles compared to last month, crossed the finish line of my second 5k, and found a new running buddy: my son (best running partner ever 🥹).
Let’s not forget the 2 HUGE new blisters to show for it. Does this make me a real runner now?
But the real wins? Choosing a sober lifestyle, feeling more connected to myself, and finding this amazing little running community here on TikTok and beyond. 🖤
Sometimes, progress isn’t measured in pace but in the joy and clarity that comes with every step. Cheers to the miles behind us and the ones still ahead. HAPPY NEW YEAR 🏁✨
In December, I experienced significant growth as a runner, clocking 78.84 miles through 23 runs, including my longest distance of 6.80 miles on December 16. Despite the challenges, including a few blisters, the month was filled with camaraderie and determination. Many runners discover that pausing to appreciate the journey is vital—whether it's hitting personal records or simply enjoying the surroundings. My fastest pace was achieved on December 21 during a 3.08-mile run, where I averaged 10'57'' per mile. Contrarily, my slowest run involved a 2.50-mile training session at a relaxed pace of 15'12''. This variety highlights that every run has its purpose, from training to enjoying the fresh air. The running community on platforms like TikTok has been incredibly supportive, reminding us that the true essence of running lies in shared experiences and personal connections. As we move into a new year, I look forward to continuing this journey of improvement, connection, and, most importantly, joy in every stride.
