Book Boo Basket!📚👻

I’m in a reading group on Facebook for military spouses, and they organized a bookish boo basket for the fall!

This everything I gifted:

📖 Twisted Love - this book was on her wishlist

📖 Coraline - lol so I did some FB stalking and on her page she asked for book recs she could read with her kid, and I thought this was perfect for Halloween!

🪡 Book sleeves - I made these book sleeves & put Twisted Love in one of them. I also made her some scrunchies & the magnetic book marks (:

🫖 this tea sampler was on her list, so I go that and bought a mug to go with it! To go along with the cozy vibes I included a blanket (also on her wishlist) and a candle.

🧑‍🦯 Blind Date with a Book - I bought this book as soon as I had my person. She hadn’t shared a wishlist yet but I couldn’t resist the sprayed edges and eerie looking cover! When she did share her wishlist there was a blind date with a book on it, so I just wrapped it up, bought a highlighter & some sticky tabs and a few stickers and stuffed them in the little pockets.

this was so much fun and I’m really hoping they do one for Christmas!

... Read moreAfter creating my own bookish boo basket, I've gathered some tips to help you craft the perfect spooky and cozy gift for a fellow book lover! It’s such a thoughtful way to show you care, especially when you tailor it to their tastes. First, personalization is key! Think about the recipient's favorite genres, authors, or even their preferred coffee/tea. If they have a wishlist, that's a golden ticket! If not, a little gentle social media "stalking" (like I did for Coraline for the kid-friendly read!) can reveal hidden gems. Do they love horror, fantasy, or cozy mysteries? This will guide your book choices. Don't just pick any book; aim for something they'll genuinely treasure. Next, consider the "cozy comfort" elements. A bookish boo basket isn't just about books; it's about creating an entire experience. I loved including a soft, pink fluffy blanket and a dark mug with a tea sampler to complete the vibe. Imagine them snuggled up with their new read! Other ideas could be scented candles (like the dark candle holder I used), gourmet hot chocolate, or even some yummy snacks. These additions elevate the gift from just books to a full self-care package. DIY touches add so much charm and make the gift truly unique. I had a blast making handmade book sleeves with ghost and Halloween patterns, along with matching scrunchies and magnetic bookmarks featuring cute ghost designs. It's a fantastic way to add a personal touch without spending a fortune. You can find tons of tutorials online for simple sewing projects or even no-sew alternatives. And for an extra layer of mystery and fun, include a "Blind Date with a Book"! This was a highlight in my basket. Choose a book with an intriguing cover (maybe something with Halloween stickers on the wrapping!), wrap it up, and add a few clues about the genre or mood without giving away the title. I also tucked in a highlighter and sticky tabs so they could mark their favorite passages – a small detail that shows you're thinking about their reading experience. Finally, presentation matters! When compiling your completed boo basket packed in a box, arrange everything beautifully. You can use tissue paper, crinkled paper, or even a small, decorative ghost character cutout to make it look festive and inviting. Seeing that bookish Boo! basket sign on top made it feel so special. Whether it's for a friend, family member, or a special "she" in your life, crafting a personalized bookish boo basket is a heartwarming way to share the joy of reading and make someone's day a little spookier and a lot cozier!
