I got Botox for the 1st time 💉
Okay so I did a thing 👀
I got Botox for the first time last week & I’m (surprisingly!) loving it 🥰
I was really worried I would kind of freak out once it started to kick in but I don’t mind the feeling at all, but it is weird not being able to move half of your face!
Anyone else gotten Botox or any other kind of neurotoxin? What has been your experience??

Hey everyone! So glad to see some of you can relate to that initial jump into the world of Botox. It’s definitely a unique feeling when those muscles start to relax, right? Like my image says, 'Feeling my Botox start to kick in for the first time... but wait I think I kinda love it?' It’s a mix of nerves and wonder! Since I’ve been through it, I wanted to share a bit more about what I learned, especially for those of you considering your first time or wondering about the aftercare. One of the biggest questions I had, and I know many others do too, is about post-treatment activities. My injector gave me some clear guidelines that are super important for getting the best results and avoiding complications. For the first few hours, and ideally for the rest of the day, it’s best to avoid lying flat or bending over excessively. This helps the Botox settle correctly and prevents it from migrating to unintended areas. As for strenuous activities, like intense workouts or even, yes, sex, it’s generally recommended to wait at least 24 hours. The idea is to keep your blood pressure down and avoid anything that might cause the product to spread or bruise the injection sites. I definitely took it easy, just to be safe! Beyond the immediate restrictions, the overall 'Botox experience' unfolds over a few days. Don't expect instant results right after your appointment. For me, I started noticing subtle changes around day 3-5, and the full effect usually takes about 10-14 days to kick in. During this time, you might feel a slight heaviness or a 'frozen' sensation in the treated areas, which can feel a bit weird at first. It’s totally normal to try to make expressions and find those muscles just aren't moving like they used to! This is exactly what happened to me, and it's part of the process of realizing it's working. When it comes to the 'before and after,' it’s fascinating to see the transformation. I recommend taking a clear 'before' photo in good lighting, making some expressive faces (like frowning or raising your eyebrows). Then, after about two weeks, take another set of photos doing the same expressions. You'll likely see a significant smoothing of lines in the treated areas. For me, my forehead lines have softened dramatically, and I love how refreshed I look without appearing 'done.' It's not about erasing every single line, but softening them to give a more youthful and relaxed appearance. My goal wasn't to look completely different, but a more rested version of myself, and I feel like that's exactly what I got. It’s definitely a journey of self-discovery, and I’m so happy I took the plunge!
