Sunday Reset: Exiting My Lazy And Messy Era

"Sunday Reset: Exiting My Lazy and Messy Era"

Hey besties! Today, let's chat about leaving behind our lazy and messy era. It’s time to stop making excuses and stop waking up comfortable with a messy or dirty home. Let's dig into why our homes get messy and the amazing benefits of keeping them clean.

Here’s a typical messy room - clothes everywhere, bed unmade. It’s so easy to let things pile up when life gets busy, but it’s time to reclaim our space.

Clutter often builds up when we’re overwhelmed or don’t have a routine. Remember, a clean space can lead to a clear mind and better productivity.

Cluttered Floors:

The floors look like a disaster zone. But don’t worry, we’re going to tackle this step by step.

A cluttered floor can make it hard to relax and enjoy your home. Picking up items and finding a place for everything can significantly reduce stress.

Messy Room:

This might not look pretty, but it’s the reality of falling into a lazy and messy era. Let’s turn this around.

A messy room can make you feel anxious and frustrated. Let’s transform this space into something we can be proud of.

Tip 1 - Start Small:

Start with one small area at a time to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

Begin with one small section, like the bed or a corner. Clean and organize that space before moving on to the next. It makes the task so much more manageable.

Tip 2- Use Bins and Baskets:

Use bins and baskets to sort and store items efficiently.

Bins and baskets are lifesavers for organizing. Sort your items into categories and store them neatly. This keeps everything in its place and makes cleaning easier in the future.

Tip 3- Declutter Regularly:

Declutter regularly to keep your space tidy and organized.

Make decluttering a regular habit. Set aside time each week to go through your belongings and get rid of what you don’t need. This prevents clutter from building up.

Tip 4- Create a Cleaning Routine:

Create a consistent cleaning routine to maintain a tidy home.

Establish a cleaning routine that works for you. Whether it’s a quick daily tidy-up or a thorough weekly clean, consistency is key to keeping your home organized.

Tip 5 - The Benefits of a Clean Home:

Enjoy the benefits of a clean and organized home.

A clean home not only looks great but also promotes a sense of peace and well-being. It’s easier to find things, you’ll feel more relaxed, and it sets a positive example for your family.

Besties, exiting the lazy and messy era is a journey, but it brings so many benefits. A clean home leads to a clear mind, reduced stress, and a more comfortable living environment. Let’s stop making excuses and start embracing the cleanliness and organization we deserve. Happy cleaning!

... Read moreOkay besties, let's get real about the infamous 'messy room with clothes everywhere' scenario. We've all been there, right? That chair that magically transforms into a mountain of 'worn-but-not-dirty-enough-for-the-hamper' clothes, or the floor that slowly disappears under a sea of garments. For a long time, my room looked like a clothes explosion, and it honestly made me feel anxious and unproductive. It was definitely part of my 'lazy and messy era,' and I knew I needed to find a way out, especially during my Sunday Reset. When I started my journey to tackle this specific problem, I realized the 'Start Small' tip is absolutely crucial, especially for clothes. Instead of looking at the entire room, I’d pick one pile. Maybe it was just the clothes on my bed, or the stack next to my closet. I’d grab a laundry basket and two bags: one for donations and one for trash. My first pass was always about quick wins: hanging up anything that belonged on a hanger, folding items that could go straight into a drawer, and immediately tossing anything clearly trash (like tags, empty packaging). Then came the deeper sort. For each item, I'd ask myself: 'Have I worn this in the last six months?' 'Does it fit well?' 'Does it make me feel good?' If the answer was no to any of these, it went into the donation bag. This really helped with decluttering regularly, as the article mentioned. I also found it super helpful to categorize clothes as I went, which ties into using bins and baskets. For example, I have a designated drawer for activewear, another for sleepwear, and a small basket for items that need mending. This makes putting things away so much easier and prevents new piles from forming. For those 'worn once' items, I now have a dedicated, breathable basket in my closet. It keeps them off the floor and off the chair, but they're still accessible for a second wear before laundry day. This simple change was a game-changer! And when it comes to laundry, instead of letting it sit in the basket for days, I try to fold or hang almost immediately. It’s part of creating a consistent cleaning routine that works for me. I also learned that investing in some simple drawer dividers and slim hangers can make a huge difference in maximizing space and keeping things tidy. My dresser drawers used to be a jumbled mess, but now with dividers, my socks, underwear, and t-shirts actually stay organized. It's a small detail, but it contributes so much to the overall calm of the room. The benefits of a clean home, especially a clean bedroom free of clothes piles, are immense. I sleep better, feel less stressed, and honestly, getting dressed in the morning is a joy instead of a scavenger hunt. This isn't just about a pretty room; it's about a clearer mind and a more peaceful start to the week. So, if you're battling a messy room with clothes everywhere, remember, you've got this! Start small, be consistent, and enjoy the amazing feeling of reclaiming your space. No more excuses for this bestie!
