My Favorite Books 🫶
I was an avid reader during my childhood, but I really fell off in my teenage years. Part of it is because I feel like people don’t make good books anymore (imo). I could rave about dozens of books I loved as a kid, but I only have a handful of current favorites. Reading these has really inspired me to start reading again.
⭐️ Six of Crows 🐦⬛
5/5. Literally perfect. From the world building, to the characters, the writing, the adventure, the stakes. I was hooked. This book single handedly made me want to start reading again. I couldn’t put it down and I haven’t really found a book as good since. The sequel is great too.
⭐️ The Rise of Kyoshi 🪭
5/5. If you love ATLA, just read it. You’re going to love it. If you’ve never seen ATLA but you like fantasy, “magic”, adventure, etc still read it. It covers the early years of Avatar Kyoshi (the greatest avatar imo) and it’s so crazy. They literally thought a whole other dude was the avatar and all hell breaks loose when they discover it’s Kyoshi. The sequel is great too.
⭐️ Uzumaki 🌀
4.5/5 (but really 5/5). This is a horror manga about a town literally cursed by spirals. As with all of Junji Ito’s work, it’s a creepy unsettling horror. The artwork is beautiful and it’s a pretty quick read. What it lacks in storyline it makes up for in artwork and creativity. I love his work and I’m hoping to collect more.
