I think if I think about it it too much I’ll cry so 🤷♀️#relatabl #collegefreshman #freshmanyear #fyp #relateable
Starting college is often a fresh start filled with excitement and anticipation. However, going into my freshman year while dealing with family deaths was anything but easy. The emotional toll of grieving while trying to focus on schoolwork and new social environments was overwhelming at times. I found that acknowledging my feelings instead of suppressing them helped me cope better. Talking with friends who understood the pressures of college and loss made me feel less isolated. Balancing grief and academics required setting small, achievable goals each day. Sometimes, getting out of bed and attending classes was a big accomplishment. I also learned the importance of reaching out for mental health support offered by campus counseling services. They provided a safe space to process my emotions and develop coping strategies. If you’re facing similar challenges as a college freshman, it’s okay to feel vulnerable and ask for help. Grieving while adapting to college life is a unique struggle that takes strength and patience. Remember, taking time for self-care, whether through journaling, exercise, or simply resting, is essential. Over time, I discovered that honoring my grief alongside pursuing my education helped me grow emotionally and academically. You’re not alone, and your journey, though difficult, can build resilience and deeper empathy for yourself and others.
