Rip Patrick Muldoon

For me, and I'm sure for many of you, Patrick Muldoon immediately brings to mind his memorable role as Jeff Hunter on *Saved by the Bell*. Who could forget Jeff, the manager at The Max, who famously stole Kelly from Zack? That whole scandal was peak 90s teen drama! It was such a pivotal storyline, stirring up so much talk among my friends at school. We were all so invested in Zack and Kelly, and then Jeff came along, throwing a wrench into everything. It showed a different side of high school relationships, and Patrick played that role perfectly – making Jeff both charming and, at times, a bit of a heartbreaker. It’s funny how vividly I can still picture those scenes, and it felt like everyone was talking about it at the time. But his career was so much more than just The Max. Patrick Muldoon was truly a staple of 90s television and cinema. Before his Saved by the Bell stint, he was already making waves in daytime, notably as Austin Reed on *Days of Our Lives*. That role really showcased his range and talent for long-form storytelling. For those of us who watched soaps, he was a familiar and beloved face there too, navigating all the dramatic twists and turns that only a soap opera can deliver, proving his versatility early on. Then, of course, there was his iconic role in *Starship Troopers*. Talk about a complete genre shift! Going from teen romance and daytime drama to a gritty sci-fi action film, he proved his versatility. He played Zander Barcalow, a character central to the intense, action-packed narrative of the film. It was a movie that defined a generation of sci-fi fans, and his presence added a significant layer to the ensemble cast. It’s a film that still holds up for so many of us, and his contribution was undeniable. Looking back, Patrick Muldoon had this incredible ability to pop up in so many different projects that captured the essence of the 90s. Whether it was his turn as a teen heartthrob, a soap opera lead, or a sci-fi hero, he left a lasting impression. It’s hard to believe he was so young when he made such an impact on us, and seeing the news just brings back a flood of nostalgia. As we process this news, it’s a moment to truly appreciate the actors who became part of the fabric of our lives through their work. *Rest In Peace*, Patrick Muldoon.
