I got a kidney transplant!
On Monday, June 10th, I finally received a kidney transplant after about two years of waiting! Many people wait years longer, so receiving the call on saturday that I had a potential kidney offer was so emotional🥲🥹! I can finally sleep freely at night and not have to do dialysis! Although i’ll likely need another transplant down the line, I’m feeling so grateful to have the chance to live normally again and feel healthy! I should be able to go home tomorrow, and if not tomorrow, definitely friday! This whole journey has been legitimately life changing, I feel as if i’ve lived many lives and it has molded me into someone much more mature, and able to deal with challenges and hard situations. Although it was definitely a struggle to overcome this, feeling so much FOMO as my peers for the most part lived normally, this experience has truly shaped much of who I am today. I’ve had so much support from my family and friends, and even all of the medical professionals who have been there along the way have been wonderful.
