EAT WHOLE FOODS !!!!!!

eating whole foods has AMAZING benefits for your health… and focusing on primarily eating them is not “dieting”

its so crazy that our society views salad, grilled chicken with rice, protein sources, etc. as “diet” foods ! beyond physical fitness or aesthetics, there are sooo many benefits of adding in more whole foods

1. nutrient power: whole foods like fruits, veggies, and whole grains are loaded with vitamins and minerals

2. gut goals: the fiber in whole foods helps digestion and keeps your gut happy

3. blood sugar balance: whole foods can help stabilize your blood sugar and provide natural energy to your body

4. satiety: whole foods keep you full longer which can help with weight management without any restriction

5. heart health: whole foods support your heart far beyond anything processed with additives and chemicals

while my current diet is more extreme than just whole foods, i don’t think it should be seen as the “norm.” before i started my training, i focused on clean, whole protein sources (which is a main reason i moved away from being vegan) and lots of vegetables. its all about balance — there’s definitely room for occasional treats (even if nothings being celebrated, and you just want something you love and crave) ! but for the most part, we should strive for whole foods without them being demonized or mocked

ultimately it’s always about nourishing our bodies in a way that feels right for us !! it’s important to consider individual dietary needs and preferences. not everyone may be able to eat exclusively whole foods due to personal health conditions, lifestyle, or cultural practices. the key is to find a balanced approach that works for you, focusing on whole foods as a FOUNDATION while allowing for flexibility and enjoyment in your diet 🫶🏼🥑

... Read moreEating whole foods offers a plethora of health benefits that go far beyond mere dieting. Whole foods, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and proteins, provide essential nutrients that are vital for maintaining overall health. They are rich in vitamins and minerals, which support your body's various functions, including immune response, bone health, and skin integrity. Additionally, whole foods are packed with dietary fiber, which is crucial for digestive health and helps regulate blood sugar levels, preventing spikes and crashes that can leave you feeling fatigued. Moreover, adopting a diet rich in whole foods can significantly support heart health. Unlike processed foods that often contain additives and unhealthy fats, whole foods help reduce the risk of heart disease by promoting healthy cholesterol levels and improving blood circulation. They also tend to be more satisfying, keeping you fuller for longer, aiding in weight management without restrictive dieting practices or cravings. This allows individuals to enjoy their meals while still making healthy choices. It's important to find a dietary balance that works for you, as everyone's health needs and preferences vary. Embrace the flexibility of incorporating whole foods into your diet while allowing for occasional treats to maintain satisfaction and enjoyment in your culinary journey. The goal should always be nourishing your body with ingredients that make you feel good physically and mentally, thereby cultivating a positive relationship with food.
