why iām competing šš !!
full vid on ig or tiktok
i get asked all the time about my āwhyā behind this journey, and honestly, there are so many reasons ! but at the core, itās really about my growthāspecifically building confidence and doing something thatās completely outside my comfort zone, which requires a lot of trust in others
iāve struggled with self-confidence for a long time but never really talked about it. when youāre often seen as āsmall,ā people automatically assume youāre happy with your body, and it makes it harder to talk about wanting to change without feeling judged. iāve wanted a specific physique for years, but i struggled to make it happen on my own. so, this journey finally pushed me to get a trainer and fully dive into something totally new
i still have 9 weeks to go, and iām beyond excited to see how much more i can transform !! but already, i feel so much more confident and comfortable in my body than the girl who started this in august
a while back, i worked with @alexiiaa and hearing about her journey really inspired me. i was in awe of her dedication to a sport that can seem all consuming. at the time, i didnāt think something like this was even possible for me. but when i met @maria_chase and heard more about her story, it reignited something in me. i was so inspired by her discipline and the mindset that comes with competing, and i realized i could do this too
i had just stopped being vegan about six months before starting this, and i was looking for a real reason to get serious about fitnessāsomething that would give me the push to find a trainer, get nutrition advice, and have a goal to work toward
even though i plan to carry a lot of these habits after i compete, i needed help to really understand how everything works. plus, iām studying to become a certified personal trainer, and doing this alongside my studies has been one of the most rewarding experiences
i could talk about this forever, but thereās a little big nutshell š

So many of you ask about the nitty-gritty details once that initial spark of wanting to compete hits! It truly can feel like an impulsive decision at first, a tiny voice saying, 'What if I could do that?' For me, seeing othersālike a co-worker who had competed or a founder with her own successful 'burn method' training philosophyāreally planted the seed. It wasn't just about the physical transformation; it was about the discipline and dedication I saw in them. Learning about the sport became an obsession. I found myself diving into every resource, scouring TikTok for inspiration, and watching countless competition recaps. That's actually how I stumbled upon a training group that clicked with me. Finding the right coach is absolutely paramount. It's not just about lifting weights; it's about someone who understands your body, your goals, and can guide you through the intense nutritional and training demands. My coach helped me understand macros, periodized training, and how to fuel my body effectively without feeling deprived. Itās a huge learning curve, and having that expert guidance makes all the difference, especially when youāre navigating it for the first time. The mental game is probably the toughest part. There are days when motivation wanes, when you question every single choice, and when the mirror shows you things you didn't expect. Trusting the process, even when it feels slow, is key. I've learned to celebrate small victories, like hitting a new personal best in the gym or sticking to my meal plan perfectly for a week. Itās a constant battle against self-doubt, but each small win builds resilience. Beyond the physical prep, there's so much to consider before your first competition. Posing classes, choosing a suitāit's a whole new world! I remember feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of details. But breaking it down step-by-step, with support from my team and fellow competitors, made it manageable. The camaraderie among competitors is something I never anticipated; everyone is on a similar journey, supporting each other through the highs and lows. What I've realized is that this journey is so much more than just stepping on stage. It's about cultivating habits, understanding my body on a deeper level, and proving to myself what I'm capable of. The confidence I've gained isn't just about my physique; it's about the mental fortitude and self-belief I've built. Even after the competition, these habits of consistent training, mindful eating, and pushing past my perceived limits will stay with me. Itās a profound life transformation, not just a temporary diet and workout plan. If you're considering it, I'd say do your research, find a great mentor, and be ready for the most challenging yet rewarding experience of your life!
