what i eat in a day to stay lean & toned
what i eat in a day to stay lean, fuel my body, and prioritize whole foods on a rest day 🤍
rest days are soooo important for giving your body time to recover. honestly, they’re just as important, if not more important, than training days. sometimes eating MORE on a rest day can actually support recovery and help your body rebuild !!
first thing in the morning, rest day or not, i always take my @legion creatine (code: JStern) along with my other supplements, EAAs, and electrolytes
i’ve also learned that simpler meals are my favorite. i’m not really a sauce girl, i looooove plain flavors and honestly enjoy eating the same meals on repeat 🤌🏼
of course, all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle. but having consistency with what you’re eating can make the entire journey feel so much easier and more sustainable !!
if you’re still struggling with how to eat for your body, my 1:1 coaching is linked in my bio 🫶🏼 let’s get you lean and snatched before summer !! 👙

Taking care of your body on rest days is just as critical as your workout days, especially when aiming to stay lean and toned. From my personal experience, incorporating supplements such as creatine, essential amino acids (EAAs), and electrolytes first thing in the morning helps maintain muscle performance and hydration even when you’re not training hard. For me, these additions are non-negotiable to support recovery and muscle rebuilding. When it comes to meals, I highly value simplicity and consistency. Eating the same plain-flavored, whole-food meals repeatedly not only saves time but also helps me adhere to my nutrition goals more sustainably. For example, my typical rest day foods include egg whites and peanut butter, chicken with rice and green vegetables like broccoli or green beans, as well as fruit such as strawberries or blueberries paired with oats and dates. These nutrient-dense choices provide steady energy without overwhelming flavors or sauces. I also enjoy starting my day with aloe juice which promotes digestion and keeping decaf coffee as a gentle morning ritual. Including healthy fats like avocado alongside proteins and complex carbs like sourdough or rice cakes allows a well-rounded nutrient intake that supports lean muscle preservation and overall health. Consistency is key — creating a meal routine that fits your lifestyle makes it easier to stick to your goals long-term without feeling deprived or stressed about what to eat next. Remember, eating a bit more on rest days may actually enhance recovery by providing needed nutrients for muscle repair. If you’re still unsure how to build the perfect rest day eating plan tailored for your body, consider seeking personalized coaching. Tailoring your nutrition strategy with guidance can help you get lean, toned, and energized, ready for more effective workouts during training days.
