your coffee is keeping you SKINNY FAT
i hate to break it to you… but your coffee could be the reason you’re still SKINNY FAT 👀☕️
let me explain 👇🏼
when i was 20 lbs heavier, i thought i was doing everything right. i was under eating, restricting foods, doing way too many hiit classes… but also relying on lattes to get me through the day
i convinced myself my iced coffee HAD to be better than a real meal… right ????
but here’s the truth !!!! those liquid calories add up wayyyyy faster than you think
8 oz of barista blend oat milk = ~130 calories
my usual 16 oz latte = at least 260 calories… and that was the MINIMUM !!!
so if you’re having 2–3 coffees a day thinking it’s “lighter” than food… that could easily be 500–800+ calories just from creamer 😭
that’s literally a full meal (or more) without any real protein or nutrients to keep you full… and this is exactly how you end up feeling “stuck” !!! underfed, low energy, and not seeing your body change
you don’t have to cut out coffee or anything you love 🤌🏼
but being mindful AND actually measuring a serving (2 tbsp) can make a HUGE difference
it’s not about restriction AT ALL !! it’s about awareness !!!!
in my 1:1 coaching, i help you build a plan where you can still have your coffee, eat enough food, and actually tone up ✨

Many people underestimate the calorie impact of their daily coffee drinks, especially when they add milk, creamers, or flavored syrups. From personal experience, switching from oversized lattes with oat milk to measured 2-tablespoon servings helped me control my calorie intake without giving up my favorite coffee treats. When you're trying to shed fat but maintain muscle tone, it’s crucial to balance your calorie intake and nutrient quality. Coffee drinks that seem “light” often aren’t; for example, a 16 oz latte with oat milk can easily have over 260 calories, mostly from carbohydrates and fats, but low in protein or fiber. Consuming multiple cups a day can sneakily add up to the calories of a full meal, leaving you undernourished and without the nutrients needed to fuel your workouts and muscle repair. What worked for me was tracking the exact amount of creamer or milk I used and swapping in lower-calorie alternatives like unsweetened almond milk or black coffee on some days. Also, pairing coffee with a balanced, protein-rich breakfast or snack helped me avoid feeling deprived or low-energy throughout the day. Being aware of these hidden liquid calories is key to breaking the “skinny fat” cycle—where you might look slim but still have excess body fat and low muscle tone. It's not about cutting out coffee altogether but about creating a smarter, sustainable routine that supports your fitness journey. If you’re feeling stuck despite exercising and eating “healthily,” take a closer look at what you’re drinking. Measuring your coffee add-ins and adjusting them can be a game-changer on your path to better body composition and consistent progress.
