Im a tad bit grumpy from being sick
I've definitely been there—parking way out in the farthest corner of a busy lot, fully aware that I’ve chosen a spot to avoid the crowded aisles closer to the stores. It's that little victory, spotting a rare empty space after driving around endlessly, only to have someone swoop in right next to me moments later. It always feels like an unspoken invasion of space. Even though, technically, no one owns any particular parking spot in a public lot, it almost feels personal when another car pulls in too close or 'snatches' your prime spot. When you're already dealing with the fatigue of being sick or just having a bad day, these little things grate at your nerves even more. What makes it worse is that lots are often so packed that people act as if every inch of space is fair game, even if there are clearly other open spots further away. It’s as if common courtesy slips away, and everyone is just out for themselves. Sometimes I wonder if it helps to remind yourself that it’s not really about the spot but making your own day less stressful. One trick I've found helpful is to park where I feel most comfortable and then take a few breaths to reset before heading into the store. It keeps me from turning a small irritation about parking into a whole mood killer. Also, carrying a little humor about the quirks of parking lots helps—after all, we all experience it, and it’s just a tiny bump in the day. So, the next time someone pulls in close to your spot or acts like your carefully chosen parking space is up for grabs, try to remember: you don’t own the lot, but you own how you react. Keep your cool, protect your peace, and maybe find a fun way to laugh at the parking lot hustle.
