things I do to ensure that I practice at least 7 hours a week as a full time aud

... Read moreBalancing a demanding full-time job and rigorous LRSM preparation can be challenging, but establishing a consistent practice routine is key to success. One approach I've found incredibly helpful is breaking down practice sessions into manageable chunks throughout the day. For example, splitting mentally exhausting sessions from lighter ones allows me to maintain focus without burnout. Waking up early without relying on an alarm helps create a natural rhythm for practice time, especially when working from home. I also set clear weekly goals, such as reading new music pieces, to keep my sessions purposeful and engaging. This not only improves my skills but also adds variety to the practice, preventing monotony. Meal prepping during the week saves valuable time, enabling me to utilize lunch breaks effectively for short practice bursts. Psychologically conditioning myself with affirmations like "if I don't practice, I can't perform" boosts my motivation and accountability. Combining these techniques ensures that my weekly practice hours stay consistent, even with a busy work schedule. If you’re preparing for a demanding music examination or juggling full-time work, consider adopting flexible practice habits tailored to your energy levels and daily commitments. Embracing a goal-oriented mindset and making efficient use of small pockets of time can significantly enhance your progress while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
