Time to bring the humor back! Can’t be sad forever … ☺️ If you’re struggling with survival mode … wake up and say “It’s going to be a good day today!” Your reticular activating system is going to find the good in your day ALL day and stay away from the negative. try it! then do it over and over again. #ras #humor #felonlove
Dealing with tough times can leave us feeling stuck in survival mode, where negativity seems to take over. From personal experience, I found that intentionally training my mind to seek out positive moments each day has made a significant difference. This is where the reticular activating system (RAS) plays a crucial role — it's like an internal filter that focuses our attention on what we prioritize. When you repeat affirming statements such as "It’s going to be a good day today," your RAS is tuned to notice opportunities and positive occurrences that might otherwise go unnoticed. What really helped me was making this a daily habit, especially during challenging periods. I set aside a few moments every morning to say positive phrases aloud or in my mind before starting the day. Over time, I noticed I became more resilient and able to laugh more easily, even when things were tough. Adding humor is a great way to lighten the mood; it reminds us not to take life too seriously and to appreciate small joys. One interesting observation I made relates to situations where unexpected stress arises—like when I noticed unusual police presence (two extra squad cars) in my neighborhood—moments like these can trigger anxiety. Instead of dwelling on the potential negatives, I tried shifting my focus by repeating those positive phrases and looking for humor in everyday occurrences. This approach helped reduce my stress and improved my overall outlook. Consistency is key: the more you practice focusing on the positive, the more your brain will naturally seek it out. If you’re struggling with negative thoughts or feeling overwhelmed, I encourage you to give this simple technique a try. It may seem small, but over time, it can transform the way you experience your days.
