cool cafe & best matcha in brooklyn, nyc 🍵

Dae $$$

the coolest, prettiest and aesthetically pleasing cafe in brooklyn is the perfect spot for a matcha or tea, brunch and also features a range of special home goods. what's better than coffee and shopping?! the beverage selection is extensive with a range of lattes (obviously get the matcha), teas and coffees. there's even a sweet corn latte if you're in the mood for something unique. the reishi hot chocolate is delicious and there's even non caffeinated coffee. the brunch menu has fried eggs with kimchi over rice, a classic BLT and the most perfect egg sandwich. the space is so tranquil and the ideal spot for coffee. you're going.

... Read moreOkay, so I just HAVE to tell you about Dae in Brooklyn – it's quickly become my go-to spot, and honestly, if you're searching for the best matcha in NYC, you absolutely need to check this place out! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is just so tranquil and effortlessly cool. It's not just a cafe; it’s an experience. Let's talk matcha because, wow, it's exceptional here. I usually go for the iced matcha latte – the distinct green and white layers are just as beautiful as they are delicious. You can tell they use high-quality ceremonial grade matcha because it's so smooth, vibrant, and has none of that bitter aftertaste you sometimes find elsewhere. It’s the perfect pick-me-up, whether you're starting your day or need an afternoon boost. But Dae isn't just about the matcha; their food menu is equally impressive. Their brunch offerings are truly unique cafe items that stand out. I'm still dreaming about their egg sandwich – it's not just any egg sandwich! Served on a tray, it comes with the most amazing chili crisps and creamy garlic labneh. It's a flavor explosion you won't forget. I also tried their egg bowl, which features soft-boiled eggs with roe and pink garnishes, making it a perfect, aesthetically pleasing meal. And for those who love savory, they also have fried eggs with kimchi over rice, which sounds incredibly comforting, and a classic BLT. I even spotted a delicious-looking grilled cheese sandwich on someone else's table – definitely on my list for next time! Beyond the classics, they have some really adventurous drinks. The sweet corn latte initially sounded wild, but trust me, it's a delightful surprise. And for non-caffeinated options, the reishi hot chocolate is a rich, comforting treat. They even have non-caffeinated coffee, which is a rare find! What elevates Dae even further is its unique concept as a design shop. As you sip your matcha, you can browse through their beautifully curated collection of home goods. I love their minimalist shelves displaying items like elegant candles and stylish napkins. It’s the perfect place to find a unique gift or treat yourself to something special while enjoying your coffee. The whole space feels so thoughtfully designed, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed brunch, a productive work session, or just a quiet afternoon retreat in Carroll Gardens. Seriously, this cafe is a gem!
