4 NYC desserts that live rent free in my head

Misi $$$

did you know that one of the best italian restaurants in nyc also has some of the best desserts ever? this cheesecake is undeniably soft, smooth and has the perfect amount of cream cheese. its such a great way to top off a fabulous pasta and cheese filled meal. what's better than cheese? more cheese of course.

Sip&Guzzle $$$

i dream about this soft serve. for real. it comes with strawberries and is made with Hokkaido milk. this dessert is at the "sip" part of the restaurant and such a wonderful accompaniment to the bar's mochi french fries and electric chicken. its creamy, contains the perfect amount of sugar and has a vanilla taste and creamy texture.

Levain Bakery – NoHo, NYC $$

what's there to say about the Levain chocolate chip cookie? it truly lives up to the hype and is one of the tastiest chocolate chip cookies ever. for real. the cookies are famous because they're giant, have the perfect melt in your mouth chocolate and a unique texture. its such a special sweet treat.

Dominique Ansel Bakery $$$

i dont care how many times i've had this or seen it on social media - the cookie shot does not disappoint. it's shaped like a shot glass and so fun to drink with milk. the cookies are also delicious. i love sipping some milk and taking bites. they're so fresh and tasty.

New York
2025/4/27 Edited to

... Read moreSpeaking of amazing NYC desserts that stick with you, my sweet tooth journey didn't end with those first four incredible finds! New York City is an endless treasure trove for sweet treats, and I recently stumbled upon another gem that truly deserves a spot on any dessert lover's must-visit list. If you're exploring the Midtown area, specifically around 776 9th Avenue, you absolutely have to check out Patisserie Fouet. This place is a little slice of heaven, offering some of the most delicate and artfully crafted French pastries I've ever encountered. While my heart still beats for the creamy texture of Misi's cheesecake and the unique charm of Dominique Ansel's cookie shot, Patisserie Fouet brings a different kind of magic to the table. Imagine stepping into a cozy spot where every pastry looks like a work of art, almost too beautiful to eat – but trust me, you'll want to take that first bite! I remember trying their éclairs, and they were simply divine – perfectly crisp choux pastry filled with the smoothest, most flavorful cream, not overly sweet, just right. And their tarts? Oh my goodness. The fruit tarts are bursting with fresh flavors, balanced by a buttery, flaky crust. It's a completely different vibe from the chunky, satisfying chew of a Levain Bakery cookie, but equally rewarding in its own sophisticated way. If you're looking for something that feels a bit more European and refined, Patisserie Fouet is your spot. What makes Patisserie Fouet stand out, even amongst the giants like the soft serve from Sip & Guzzle, is their attention to detail and the sheer elegance of their offerings. Each creation feels meticulously made, a true testament to French patisserie traditions. It’s perfect for a quiet afternoon treat, a celebratory dessert, or picking up something special for a loved one. The atmosphere is charming and inviting, making the whole experience even sweeter. You know how some desserts just capture your imagination, like the ones in that perfect collage of NYC treats? Patisserie Fouet's creations definitely earn a spot in that mental gallery. So, if you're ever in Midtown and craving an exquisite dessert experience, make a detour to Patisserie Fouet at 776 9th Ave. Their delicate pastries offer a wonderful contrast to some of the richer, more playful desserts NYC is famous for. It's truly a memorable addition to NYC's vibrant dessert scene, and I bet it'll quickly join the ranks of desserts living rent-free in your head too! Don't miss out on adding this authentic French patisserie to your list of must-try places.
