"Vindication"
Isaiah 54:17 ESV
[17] No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”
Although this verse was written during more trying times, I've found that it may be comforting today as well, even on the smallest of occasions.
"Have you ever been doing the righteous work of the Lord, then done or said something that somebody takes the wrong way?"
You feel embarrassed or are shamed, so you just want to go off and forget it happened? You thought you were doing the right thing, saying the right thing, but you're made to think you've put your foot in your mouth?
Maybe you did, maybe you didn't?
So next, you're hesitant to walk down that path again for fear of what may happen next?
Will I offend someone? Will they think I'm a fool? Will they even give me the time of day?
This verse is telling us that we have God's protection...
No weapon, whether physical or spiritual or even thoughts, will succeed against God's people.
We will be vindicated and refuted...
This verse also states that every accusation or judgment against them will be refuted, and their righteousness will come from God.
Do in those times, let that bring you peace, knowing that God knows your intentions and agrees with your motives.
